JoeyF/Blackitalian/Sam1952/Jboog busted on the NET54...

Sam I am?

PER DJR on the net..
I feel bad for Joey on many levels but when it starts affecting others, it bothers me and wish he would go away quietly.

I added Joey's eBay ID italianz31 to my blocked bidder list months ago and would suggest everyone to follow my lead.

I will post below a sampling of items Joey recently 'purchased' on eBay, then reneged, and were subsequently relisted.

Is he still successfully implementing his "buy high, sell low" strategy?

Sounds like he's changed that to now be: "buy high--but not too high but if you do, claim you're out of work--then sell low" strategy. Then go ahead and rinse and repeat on eBay and hope the guy from net54 isn't watching.

Really strange how fast he has buyer's remorse.

I feel for the kid in a way because he seems so angry and indecisive.

    Good for you.

He buys items then after receipt ask the buyer to refund or discount the card. Thus this explains his buy HIGH sell LOW...Buy card for 1000 get refund not to leave negative feedback of 250 then sell for 900 making $150....Nice gig while it worked but he has ran thru 3 main messeage boards in less then 2 months.

Example....wins card for 1000...receives and ask for a refund due to card doesnt look as nice in hand...keep in mind he can still neg the buyer since he hasnt left feedback...so buyer agrees to discount the price...refunds 200...thus Joey has 800 in the card...Joey in turn sells the card for 950 thus making 150 and selling the card for cheaper than others on eBay.....Feedback Blackmail....guess that is where he got the name Blackitalian...
  • mrmint23mrmint23 Posts: 2,249 ✭✭✭
Notice on this auction he ran the price up and didnt pay...Probably because he had a 54 Aaron for sale at the same time and this was in competition for his price.

Why people buckle to this type of pressure is beyond me. If someone buys something from me and attempted to get a partial refund to avoid a negative feedback, I would tell them to go F themselves and be sure to leave the negative when they were done. I am not sure why people are afraid of a damn negative feedback!

Would be nice if we did a community COMPLAINT to ebay about this. I'm talking about 50-100 individual complaints about his feedback extortion threats and then
    these re-listings.

    What a creep!

  • What he needs is a series of bidders that somehow run into a chain of bad luck events that prevents them from paying for the items that they win in his auctions. That would be most unfortunate.

This is exactly why I maintain a one-strike policy. Screw me once, you're done! In fact, if I even have an inkling that someone isn't on the level, I don't deal with them. I've given up on giving second chances and it really has prevented me from having the same headaches that many here post about.

If a buyer wanted a partial refund, they'd have two choices: Keep the item as is or return the item for a full refund. It is simple and cuts out the possibility of this ilk getting an advantage. Luckily, I've never had a request for a refund, but the policy still stands.

Exactly, the few times buyers tried to pull the give me a partial refund or else I simply offer them a full refund upon return of the item in the condition I sent it out to them. If they refuse or try to escalate the issue I point them towards eBay's Feedback Extortion policies, offer them to again send back for full refund or keep the item.

The people that constantly try and pull this shiat will back off right away if you stand your ground because they don't want their accounts to be flagged by eBay as someone who is constantly doing this. I always make sure to forward the messages to eBay once they back off.

Also as a buyer I will never demand a partial refund if I get something that say was damaged in shipping. I will contact the seller, tell them I am unhappy and would like a replacement or a full refund because it is now in this condition. I may hint that if they have other suggestions I am open to them but I will never suggest a partial refund to keep the item.

Gotcha, hard to believe a seller would partial refund for even $100,but it makes sense,I did get a nice Aaron from him pretty
cheap, made sure to pay thru paypal with cc,just to be safe. This was a little before everyone started seeing his buy hi-sell low.
After looking at feedback,I see the same card he bought for $99 more than he sold it to me.What a tool..

..except that he likely did not pay that listed amount...he would have done his extortion/partial refund scam = ended up paying less and then charge you just a bit under the original price....thus "buying high and selling low"

I think he's been bammed from here - and it sounds like he's on the verge of getting booted from Net54 soon.

He still posts over on the SGC forums though...and it's the same cr@p that he used here. image

"Can I get help with VCP on card X in a PSA 3?", or "Does this card look trimmed?"...etc. - always on a high profile card that he intends to buy for his collection, and they always end up for sale on the B/S/T or ebay a few days later.

He is "on watch" at SGC, trust me on that one. I consider myself lucky with the one transaction of the card I bought from him. That transaction happened before things blew up around here. I dont see any reason why I would consider making another deal with him for any reason. It wont be long and he will have no where to go and that will be good for all of us. He will be very easy to spot if he tries an alt just as it was easy to see he was the Sam1952. He can yell for mods to check his IPs but a cell phone with your choice of area code can throw that excuse out the window.

And he sure isnt going to admit to being that Sam1952 alt now. There were some threats on Net54 and talk of having the authorities called. He even called Leon to plead his case and swear up and down that him and sam1952 are not the same people. He knows he'll be in deep doo doo.

comparing me to Joey? seriously, i'm honored. image

let's get something perfectly straight here: i never once intended to defraud or bully any seller into refunding me, either in full, or in a couple cases I ACCEPTED a seller's offer of a partial refund after proving that the merchandise i purchased was not as described....i cut THEM a break by keeping their crap at a reduced price to avoid further conflict as a convenience to both parties.

i don't go around buying stuff just to send it back. that's a pain in the ass. the sellers who attepmted to defraud ME know g*****n well what they did, and most were willing to own up to their mistakes.

that's why they took their merchandise back. that's why they refunded me.

let's compare apples to apples Bigjohn69. i have no issues with you.

Contacted...they said he didnt do anything out of the ordinary....But he is probably using his Ebay bucks earned last month to cash them out...Example use ebay bucks to buy a card for 310 then sell same card for 295 to get cash in hand.

  • I have come to two conclusions:
Scamming (likely) - Buys high sells low - permitted to do this because he begs for refunds and if not given probably files SNAD or returns the card therefore allowing him to be sure 100% he will never lose money.

  • I think option 2 is more likely than option 1. Option 1 seems out of the realm of possibility.

  • I think I met that JoeyF character in a Perkins Pancake House one time buying a 51 Mantle from him. He had a big bulge in his coat pocket and kept whispering things like "hup hup hup" into his wrist. And he wore a lot of cheap perfume, Chanel #5 I think it was.

We knew this guy was a loser 20 threads ago...
  • Maybe this Joey is using someone else's money? Maybe a vulnerable relative or something like that? Buy high with someone else's money, flip it right away for a price it sells for quickly, meaning low.
Because no one gets buyers remorse so often, and even if they do try to at least recoup their investment.
