Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I applaud your collection. I love collections of second tier players. I don't mean that as a slight against Mr. Garner. He's no HOFer but a scrappy ballplayer who enjoyed a long career. I collect Ron Cey, Steve Sax and a few others who are not highly collected. I enjoy it. Anybody can collect HOFers but it takes a special person to collect the others! Good job!
Wow. I LOVE seeing nice collections like this one. I collect Steve Garvey cards, and I certainly appreciate the appeal of a set like this. Looks like you have some really nice cards in your set. Post more! Post more!
<< <i>Nice cards, have you gotten a chance to meet him yet? >>
No, I have not. I would love to though. When I was a kid he rented a house in a neighborhood over from where I lived. You would be amazed at how small and plain the house was. How times have changed.
If you post it - I look at it - I enjoy everyone's collection!
It can be disappointing when ya take the time to post something - which could have interest and gets no responses - it's just the nature of the boards I guess.
Keep posting - and I'll keep thankin ya for sharing! mike

I think it was quite the contrary in this thread as the responses were more than a few, and very complimentary.
Do you do the manager cards too, or just him during his playing days? I was always surprised that manager cards of guys like Sparky Anderson and Tony LaRussa don't sell, even in PSA 10.
You guys missed the point. I posted the "not that anyone cares" on my original post. It wasn't because people were not looking at my thread, it was because I figured I was the only one on these boards who collects Phil Garner. The responses have been great and I am quite surprised by all the praise I have received. Thanks a bunch.
<< <i>but how did you become a Garner fan anyways >>
Paul, I was 12 when the Pirates won the World Series and I was a huge Pirate fan still am. I loved that team Parker,Stargell, Madlock, but Garner was tough and griity which made him fun to watch

I was generalizing about what can happen and wasn't even sure what the reference was about.
I was trying to be supportive.
I can read - I saw the positive stuff - I was only giving some thought on threads that don't get the support or where "no one cares."
