Post your latest week's purchases

Why don't we ever do threads like this? A delight for the eyes, they do it all the time in the US coin forum.Let's see those beauties.
I have been very active lately, here are some highlights.

MadMarty's excellent photo doesn't even come close to capturing the true colours of this one, wait till it goes to TrueView.

There seem to be die polishing lines on many of the Weimar issues including proofs. Any idea why?-3Mark

THESSALY, Thessalian League. 196-27 BC. AR Stater (23mm, 5.92 g, 1h). Sosipatros and Gorgopas, magistrates. Struck circa 100-50 BC. Wreathed head of Zeus right / Athena Itonia advancing right; SWSI-PATROS above, small N-I across inner fields, GORGWPAS in exergue. SNG Copenhagen -; cf. BMC Thessaly 26; McClean 4876 var. (legend break).
CARIA, Kindya. Circa 500 BC. AR Samian Tetrobol - 12mm (2.11 gm). Head of ketos (sea monster) left / Stellate pattern within latticed frame in incuse. Kagan/Kritt, "The Coinage of Kindya," NC 1995, 1-3; SNG Kayhan 810; SNG von Aulock 2340; Rosen 617 (Uncertain Caria).
Its a 58 mm bronze medal of Paul V (dated 1613 altho this is probably a later cast, as they usually are). It commemorates the Foundation of the new harbor at Fano on the Adriatic. Work commenced on the harbor in 1613 and it opened in 1619.
The reverse features a very impressionic artist's rendering of the harbor. According to Roma Resurgens, it is not a very accurate rendering (altho certainly very enthusiastic) and it is likely that the designer of the medal never visited the site......
and liked it so much, I bought some more. So basically, it's all his fault

Beautiful B mintmark coin there James
<< <i>James, what state is that first bad boy from? >>
This one is from Brunswick-Calenburg-Hannover. Not a German state I concentrate on but a high enough grade there was no resisting!
<< <i>Beautiful detail on that Goetz medal cacheman!

<< <i>Awesome coins. Here's a trade dollar I picked up recently. I like to chops more than the coin

Fantastic stater from Thessaly hyperizer.Superb coins so far everybody, keep them coming!
Cathy, glad to see you back on the Jap set. Cecil, that 8 doubles from ajaan is what I call a quick turnover on a coin,I believe the shroom didn't even get the chance to post it in the weekend swap. And James, your new coins are nice but they will grade higher if you dip them first.

I think you are correct. 1707 is definitely the common date on this type. It seems like I have seen 1704 and 1711 float across eBay in recent months, but I do not have Krause in front of me to know if this is the same type.
By the way all, some fantastic material you all have put out for show. I have to pick carefully through the Flea's junk box of sorts but occasionally I find some things to make me pretty happy.
I liked the Proof Balboa I saw on here a few weeks ago that I started hunting for a decent one to call my own. I picked up this fine example half Balboa just to start.

Cheers on the great coins all!

The detail and artistry!!
Can we make this a weekly post if anything? Let it run like Wed to Tues then start it off again?
This is really cool. Kinda nice to see what is out there and what our friends are picking up.
You know, feed the debilitating addiction sort of thing.

It just so happened that I had quite a few new coins this week, there are many weeks when I have nothing, but I wouldn't mind making this a regular weekly thread. Truly the posts and coins were beyond my expectations.
