1876 Trade dollar (w/grading & authentication poll)

I've been offered this low-grade Trade dollar in a swap. I like it (considering the budget pricerange), but just for fun, I thought I'd hang it out here since it's been a while since I did a grading poll.
The owner bought this as an authentic coin in a 2x2 marked "G4", with no problems noted. I personally would not consider this one quite strong enough for G4. To me it has more of that borderline AG+ look. I'd call it "AG3.5" if there was such a grade. You know what I mean. Regardless, as an AG, AG+, or G4, I kind of like it.
Additionally, since raw Trade dollars can sometimes be scary, I thought I'd ask you to consider the authenticity of it as well. It looks fine to me, but I use these polls to fill out the information on a coin, and authenticity or problems are certainly part of the picture.
Which brings me to the third function of this thread. In addition to rendering your grade opinion and authenticity opinion, I'd like your assessment of a fair retail trade value to assign this. (Just "on paper", anyway.) Numismedia says $90 for an 1876 in G4, but what trade value would you assign an AG, or AG+, or whatever you ended up calling it?
The proposed trade seems fair enough, I guess, since my end of the trade would be worth approximately fifty bucks.

<< <i>I see it as AG03. Interesting looking coin. Is this from your paperclip trade >>
Actually, yes. This is the proposed Paperclip #9.
And I think I'll go for it, regardless of the technical grade assigned (or even if it's called a "problem" coin).
UNLESS there's an overwhelming spike in "fake" votes here, which I don't foresee. I've told the person who offered it to me that the answer is "99% yes" with the "1% no" being the aforementioned authentication issue. I think it's a fair $50-60-ish trade offer, wouldn't you say?

<< <i>Worth about 75 bucks in a PCGS holder >>
So what about raw? $55? $60? $65?
<< <i>Thank y'all.

that's about right and 60 seams to be a nice number. it is a slightly better date too. of note it is closer to a fair 2 than a good 4 but fear not it would be worth a lot more in a fair holder as it would open the market to the low-ball type collectors and raise the price to the hundred(s )
Although in truth, I would have to see it, in hand. I like spicy food, even if it's too spicey LOL
I would give it fa2.8
I would value it at $25-$40.
I LOVE ravioli!!!
At least I wasn't as far off as the original seller who labeled the 2x2 was (probably the person my trade partner got it from). They had called it G4.
I like it. Think I'm gonna accept the trade. Hey, it's a Trade dollar, after all.
I see some value estimates running lower than the $55 minimum I'd like to have seen, but again, hey, that's why I posted it.
I might still declare it at $55-60 trade value in the Paperclip thread, since there's room for a bit of interpretation here, I would think.
I like it for the $50-ish trade I'll be giving up, in any event.
If I had the engraving skills, making it into a well-executed "potty dollar" might just increase its value.
Alas, I lack such skill.

I couldn't say. I will add that I might have circle-cropped the pictures a bit weirdly, if the slightly out-of-round appearance is an issue. (I edited the original pix for Paperclip thread purposes.)

But I'm glad to hear you second Crypto's opinion because I liked his $60 estimate.
$65 was the magic hopeful number in my own head, because it advances the Paperclip project forward by a small increment and '65 is also my birthyear. But if $55 or $60 is a more realistic declared value as-is, so be it.

I'd think- if it was round it would grade FA2.

<< <i>An economy tier grading submission would be well worth the time it would take to fill out the form/mail the coin. A PCGS Fair-2 or AG-3 would not last long in the market, and the gain would be far more beneficial on the project. >>
Actually, this raw piece is not gonna last long as-is, most likely. I've already had somebody express an interest in it once it's been declared official on the Paperclip thread. I'm still waiting for word back from my trade partner before it officially becomes Paperclip #9, but that's almost certain to happen since I've sent a PM accepting the trade. Sending it off to be slabbed would severely hamper the pace of the Paperclip project, so I'll leave that up to the next owner. The person who's already expressed an interest wants it for his "worn coin teacup" so I suspect he won't be plastifying it either, if it gets traded to him.
And I've already had two very interesting trade offers for it, but the decision on those will be for another poll later, if their owners agree.
