Just sent it in. Pcgs called me and said it was a fake slab and a sandwiched coin. Bummer. Lesson. Never buy from eBay.
Update again: Seller said he bought if from someone else and, consequently, couldn't find the the other person who he bought it from. He ask for more to refund. After waiting a week, he still needs more time. I filed a case with ebay and was refunded via paypal by the ruling of the case. How would you handle his feedback? I hat giving negs or neutrals, but does this warrant it? Or just jeave it alone

They cut the front half of a 1916 and glued it with a "d" reverse
It is a very good fake. Scary.
the really cool thing is that so many early posters expressed concerns which later showed to be fact.

You can dispute it with either eBay or PayPal.

I could make a mold for a PCGS slab with no problem and you would have no clue. China has now been able to build molds just as well as us, and they can and do copy molds. Probably why PCGS has not made a new holder. Its a waste of money,as it too would soon be copied.

Out of curiosity, were there any red flags that caused you to send your already graded coin back to PCGS, or were you going for the CAC sticker?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
