Abbreviated first and last names. "Dennis Tucker" becomes "Dentuck," kinda like the old cartoonist, Herblock.

I like Keys and Semi-Keys. The true keys to the set I am currently building are the varieties....everything else is easy to find assuming you have the cash! There are 26 varieties for Merc Dimes and I have been able to obtain more than half of them in the last 8 months but finding them oldie high grade could take 2 years or longer.

Often answering the same old question about when I was married, it was "A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away"... it seemed to fit well, since, as a financial advisor, people come to me for Sage advice.

Wisconsin Badger sports fan. Did you know that last Saturday marked only the second time ever where a school beat the number one team in both BB and FB in the same academic year and the number one teams were from the same school? Sadly Ohio State was the victim the other time as well. There have been 5 such instances where the number one teams were from different schools.

My screen name is my "Spirit" name ... given to me during my Vision Quest.

When I began my coin business, I thought back to the time I spent with my Medicine Teacher, Sun Bear, who is of the Chippewa people. During the time I lived and studied with him, he would take me along on some trips he made to Pow-Wows where, among other things, he ran a concession booth trading in Zuni and Navajo jewelry. I asked him why he did the business thing and he told me "I want to be able to meet and speak with the people. One way to attract them, is to offer them something they have a fascination with."

Anyway, I decided to call my business by my Spirit name to honor Sun Bear, my Vision and the Great Spirit.

edited to add for some of the literal-minded folks we have around these parts... Sea Eagle is my Spirit Name... Sea Eagle Coins is the name of my business. image

  • Ah.
Magikbilly. Actually from Magicbilly. There is a rather wonderful Roger Waters album called R.A.D.I.O. K.A.O.S.
Billy is a kid who lives in a wheelchair and uses his PC and a hacked-into satellite to express his displeasure at the pain the world is causing....the world.....by announcing on live radio (after calling into a talk program) that he has remotely, electronically pushed every red button on the planet and we will all be quite dead in 4 minutes.
In that time, people feel and see differently as life ends abruptly - only to find Billy did nothing but trick everyone into seeing the value of who and what is around them. No explosions, no bombs. Anyway, I liked the name.

    interesting names and reasons ...

mine is mostly for my love of collecting the representations of our great country through our past coinage and imaging, and our many depictions of Lady Liberty

secondarily it is my belief that Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is the greatest right of all ... one I fought for, and would still die for, if I had to choose

and so it seemed appropriate here .... but, unfortunately, I had to push it togther into one word

    Pursuit of Liberty

Pennyannie- Never have your wife sign you up on a coin forum when she is mad at you. Really it happened because i got my wife interested in searching wheat cent bags. I located a few big stashes of wheat cents and she was convinced she had found a 1909 VDB MPL. She located this site and signed up. I was always teasing her about the speed in which she could search a 5000 count bag. She was suppose to sign me up as "pennyandy" and i think she did. I could never remember my password and hers was simple. She never used her account after 3 or 4 post and i just took it over.

Our goal was a roll set of wheats from 09 to 58. We have done 97 percent of it. She has found all dates in roll quanity except for 5 dates and of those she has found anywhere from 5 to 30 coins. ( all low grade) She is on a break until i can come across some more decent bags to search. I would guess that she has searched 200 plus wheat cent bags and no telling how many memorial bags. The most fun was a 50 bag hoard of BU mixed date memorials that i got for face one day 2 years ago.
