My first ever Saint, grade finally in.

If not for this board, I never would have known about the 20th Anniversary sets. If not for being unemployed, I wouldn't have been home in front of the computer to place my orders. Profits from the sales are going to bills of course, but not before I got my first Saint. Nothing special, but I love it. Different lighting techniques in an attempt to accurately portray it with my little Canon A75.
Grade away if you like - I got it raw and am interested in everyone's thoughts.
Thanks again!

<< <i>Your second pic of the reverse captured the glow of gold...sorry to hear you are un-employed, been there done that, a few times...keep looking, keep collecting. >>
Thanks WJ, I tried to take "bad" pics...show all the flaws.
And thanks for the thoughts re: work. I'm in the film business in NC and it's been spotty, but things are looking up.
p.s. Hope you find a job soon, I think.
unemployed and buying gold

<< <i>MS 63 or 64 -- I'm on the fence. Great coin nonetheless & thanks for sharing...Mike

Thanks Mike - I'll take a 63 anyday. And thanks for the wishes - as long as the Mint doesn't release anything crazy while I'm working lol

lol - that was a hectic day, scrambling between credit cards to make sure limits were ok.
...and thanks for the thumbs up

Marks appear fairly light, and PCGS seems to have more tolerance for marks on Saints than on silver coins.

I'm with you at 61, but well struck for the date.

You have to run a Saint through the garbage disposer to get a 61.

Good work on picking this one up with the proceeds from your 20th Anniversary sets. Holding those heavy gold coins in your hand for the first time is a rush.
I bet you get a grade of MS63 out of this one.
Thats the way you do it, money for nothing and your coins for free.
It looks MS63 to me. Without the nicks on the thigh and minor scuffs on the reverse, it would probably grade higher.
Good Luck
Sorry about the unemployment but keep the faith. I think your pictures look very good as well....... maybe a new career???
I will send it in, and will let you know the results. From a rough guesstimate, I think the board agrees on a MS63.

I would have said 64.

Funny thing is, I bought one, then came back to the same table later, saw this NICER one that he had put in the empty hole, and swapped it for no charge.
Nice guy - planning on spending more $ with him this weekend.

I had a nice nasty quote written up earlier but I deleted it...however, in PCGS'S defense, the pics don't do it justice. Is it overgraded? No one here knows, because they've never held it.
The sour grapes crowd can take it up with PCGS.

Also, marks tend to be more noticeable when the pic is the size of a dinner plate.

Newb,
Like your Saint and have enjoyed this thread.
First you stumble into Modern Bullion Money Makin' Crap™ and then you get
a good lookin' Saint for 7% over spot. (not to mention your $12 teletrade score).
You on a roll.

But, all is good now - started a new movie this past week that will run until September. And can't resist buying nice raw Saints with Modern profits.
Picked this raw beauty up from the same dealer last weekend - it's at PCGS now. I had to go 20% over spot, but I think it's worth it. I love the die crack.
Oh, and re-reading my "sour grapes" comment above, it seems a little harsh. It was not directed at anyone in this thread.
