Props to your favorite dealer.....

If you had to ochose one dealer to work with who would it be. I have worked with well over a dozen...but there are a few who are so good, so honest and discerning that I would have used them exclusively.

Pinnacle.

I've really only dealt with three dealers over the years; one in Great Falls MT, one in San Antonio TX, and Wayne Miller in Helena MT. Of the three, the best by far was Wayne Millerimage

Over a two year period, I built a beautiful Morgan Dollar set near-exclusively from him, and also bought a few other coins from him. He treated me well as a "newbie"image He's the one reason I wish I was still stationed in Montana.

ONLY one? OK, St. Feldini. Honestly I don't think I could go with just one dealer.

I would vote for Mark Feld. My only gripe is he just doesn't have enough inventory to satisfy my appetite for his fine coins...Mike

Mark Feld is the cat's meow.

I recently consigned some pieces to him and he did well for me.

As far as buying....I really am all over the place.

I would second McIntosh . . . not one of the million-dollar power movers in the hobby, but quite personable and has good inventory for the 'collector'.

Nice guy. I met him a few years ago at the annual San Diego show. I didn't realize he had a "following".

If I had to choose one: Brian Wagner. He sells the coins that I like and he knows what I want within that subset.

Mike Printz is great but I don't get to shop there as often because he doesn't carry a lot of brown copper.

My favorite dealer believes the income he generates from my business is props enough. Same thing with my customers, I don't expect them to say "thanks for taking my money!"image

  • Russ has done an excellent job for me when it came time to sell things.

As far as buying, I like Northeast Numismatics very much. And, I would be remiss if I did not mention Mark Feld, aka St. Feldolini.

Bill Fivaz is a great and wondeful person to deal with. A true Numismatist that puts the hobby far ahead of himself.

Locally.....It has to be J&J coins in Hammond, Indiana....owned by Jess Hoogeveen.

He's rubbed shoulders with them all over the years...and has been consulted by the Mint for opinions.

He's kinda low key..........but he knows the market...and coins.
