~*~ Lord Marcovan's Oddball Type Set ~*~

October, 2015: I had lots of fun with love tokens the last time, when I was working on a dime date set of them. So I always had the feeling I'd return to them and branch out, maybe into a type set. So now it's time to start that. This time the focus will be on pictorial love tokens where possible, but any interesting engraved or counterstamped pieces which catch my fancy, be they ornate or primitive, might end up here. There isn't much to see here yet, of course.

UNITED STATES TYPE COINS
(In order by host coin denomination, then date)
"Philodemic Society"
Intaglio seal matrix carved on 1838 Coronet large cent

"JASPER DILDAY" love token on ca. 1867-1869 Shield nickel

"The Quarrelsome Dr. Prince"

Over the Garden Wall"

This is still a small collection, and nothing museum-worthy or anything, but considering this is my "cheaper" sideline collection, I've picked up a few interesting pieces now, and I'm having lots of fun with it.
This collection is growing to the point that I should probably think about sending all the coins off to someone and have better pictures made of all of them. So far I'm just recycling the sellers' images.

This project is gradually starting to look more like a Dansco-7070-style type set, as I'd originally intended. But of course there's a long way to go.
