I was looking at it on my little Android tablet before. On a proper PC with monitor now, and it looks good. There's that stray bit of spottiness to the reverse, but otherwise I like the look of it. Has a nice subtle peripheral tone. Add in some PL contrast and flash, and I'm a fan.
I freed the coin from NGC plastic, and updated the original post images. Also, the images are straight on, which doesn't show the PL nature of the coin. Here's a diffused image of the front, not the best self-admittedly, but at least shows the PL look of the front. The reverse is not very PL, so no point taking diffused shots of that as they would't look very different.
I do PCGS plastic, I know there are a lot of heated opinions about that, but that's just my choice
I'll be sending it in to PCGS for grading... >>
Hey, that's cool.....just wondering
When I bought my Rouble from Ebay years back it was raw. Very proof like, I was a little concerned PCGS wouldn't slab it....for who knows why but they did slab it.To this day I still pull it out of the safe and enjoy it so much.

It isn't drop-dead gorgeous, but on the other hand, I see nothing wrong with it.
Were I able to see the PL aspects, I'd probably amend my position to something far more enthusiastic.
Probably a nice coin in hand. Definitely original looking, as you say.
Isn't that a decade too early for your focal collection?
This is not for my 1869 set, good catch
I have purchased 4 new items for the 1869 set ... will share those images later.
MS-61 would be my guess.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
