Re: Sealed, My Ass
reminds me of yugioh boxes. I fell into a scammer who stated "sealed" "100% tournament legal". I won 5 yugioh boxes. Thankfully, I didn't pay right away. I received an email from someone who bought from him and told me about the scammer. Packs and boxes he sold him were reasealed. 2 days later seller's NARU. I learned to… -
Re: 1967 pete rose weird auction??
<< <i> << <i>Just goes to show that a lot of people have this same mindset and the thought of coming off as a scammer to graded collectors doesn't cross their minds. >> I'm sure it doesn't, but how are you to know that the flip goes with the card that's being sold? It's like those generic COA photocopies that sellers offer… -
Re: Carol, why do non-registered users of this forum get to see our profiles?
Actually they do care because they can sell a list of confirmed e-mail address for a higher price and more readily. Which means your address get in more spammers hands even more quickly. It probably stopped Boxers e-mails because it doesn't look good for a politician if it becomes widely publicly known that they are a… -
Re: eBay cutting jobs
I would like to see the math where ebay fees would have to increase, without the free tattle tales. You say SO MANY skirt the rules. I bet the actual percentage is rather low. Last I checked the fees keep going up. So either we need more tattle tales or???? As I posted, I try to follow all the rules at Ebay. Sellers that… -
Re: Buyer emails "dont sent items with Delivery confirmation anymore, I have to sign for them"
<< <i>I would ONLY ship ANYTHING w/o DC that I wanted PayPal to give to a SCAMMER as a free gift. >> I only sometimes use DC, on higher $$ items ($100+), and never use SC - I figured insured (if the buyer wants) & DC are sufficient. I've never gotten burned by a scammer, so before I do any advice is welcomed. How exactly… -
Re: Is eBay the problem...or are you the problem?
<< <i> << <i>The whole problem of scammers for all catagories could be eliminated by an escrow service where the funds are held by a third party until the Item is received and accepted . eliminate direct payment and the whole problem goes away . The system is used on one of my other hobbies auctions (RC airplanes) it works… -
Re: I wonder how Coin Universe feels about the fact that they contribute to the scamming on eBay?
This business is and always will be a "Caveat Emptor" business. Many fortunes have been made, by and Including some of the most successful dealers listed in this and other threads, have done so on 40%, 50%, and in some cases 500% mark-ups. There isn't a soul around that would give away an MS 1916 d dime they found in Aunt… -
Re: Ebay Seller wants me to give positive feedback before issuing refund -- Is this Feedback Extortion,
<< <i> << <i>Dealing with long distance law enforcement agencies for an ebay transaction gone bad isn't easy. I was told that they do not have the resources to follow-up on all of the internet fraud going on. >> Very true, but a phone call or letter from the FBI would be enough to scare the crap out of most scammers--even… -
Re: Warning on Clever Ebay phishing scam
Scammer doesn't need or really want the associated paypal account login info. He/she can use the hijacked ebay account to sell bogus goods and have the funds sent to any paypal account, including a valid one that he/she has full control over. If ebay were smart they would only allow proceeds of the sale to go to the one… -
Re: What do you do when you have a sale on ebay
This is much ado about nothing. Many new buyers show up, especially in times like now when bullion goes down and they decide it is time to buy. 1. Assuming you got paid by paypal and paypal says "OK to ship", you just ship. 2. Follow all paypal rules (signature confirmation), very important, and life is good. 3. If it is a…
