Re: Dedicated to all those 2007-W ASE Unc PCGS MS69 First Striker's

Ok, GB, you have some of my sympathy now I would suggest just a 5x or 10x loupe (which is sounds like you have anyway) and to really tilt the coin in the light while looking at it. They have knocked a few of mine down, in the past, for imaginary "spots" in the skirt (not milk spots btw) that are almost impossible to see 99… -
Re: What do you have in the Dansco 7070 Commemorative slots?
I just finished the commem half section with a Columbian, Stone Mountain, Oregon Trail, and Booker T. Washington. As for the dollar slot, I will not place a Proof coin in there since I don't like the way Dansco albums treat Proof coins (instead of golden or yellow toning, I generally get ugly milkiness and spotting on… -

Selling 10 Rolls of Silver Eagles

I have 10 all gem rolls of Eagles I need to sell by monday. None of the coins have any bagmarks or other problems. The Dates are 87,88,89,90,91,97,02,03,04,05. They are all awesome collector rolls or slab canidates. There is one tiny carbon spot on the reverse of an 87, and a light milk spot on one of the 87s as well. If… -
Re: A 'Accented Hair' question for the Russ/MM experts.
Morganhunter - give 'em a quick dip in a weak dilluted ez-est solution and then rinse, then dip in acetone and air dry. This will neutralize the surfaces so as to prevent milk spotting in the future. You just got 'em out of the mint packaging, and they have been known to spot after being freed from their celophane… -
Re: NCS squared me away today and made it right
I had something similar happen. I sent a dozen or so Franklins and Kennedys as an experiment to see what they could do on toning, haze, black spots, milk spots, etc. I had clearly checked the box to return the coins ungraded. But they sent them to NGC for grading anyway! They made it right for me by not charging me for the… -

copper collectors -- how about this 1853 half cent?
Hunting while on vacation in Kansas turned up this copper, the best I could find in terms of original surfaces. Comments on the grade appreciated. I don't know which AU to call it, 55 or 58 (but not 53 I think) (won't be slabbing it either). When I bought it, I couldn't see anything negative about it. Later, grime… -
Re: Grade Request: 1945 P Walking Liberty Half
This area seems malformed. the small area above the H appears different in both angle and squareness of the area highlighted with the arrow. May be nothing wrong, but just stood out to me. There also seems to be a coating over the coin that is similar to milk spots except the whole coin. Just an opinion. Jim
