1803/2 $5 Bust gold
This coin sold for $3300 plus the 20% bidder premium. Not original but excellent detail. Based on the PCGS coin facts page it seems that it went low: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1803-2-5/8084 Usual concerns about auctions in December not being particularly strong seem to apply. -

In addition to 1965 -1970 40% 1/2-dollar planchets were used in 1975 & 1976 USA Halves. Also used for Panama Medio Balboas 1966 thru 1971 or 1972: Various years & various country & various denominations. -
Community thoughts 1936-D Buffalo 5C 3-1/2 Legs (maybe)
Going thought some coins this morning and ran a across a 1936D Buffalo. Looks plated but also looks like it could be a 3-1/2 leg. Let me know what ya think. -

I placed 2 orders for ATBs yesterday, 1 in each order. The mint shipped the 2 orders with UPS!
But my 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10 gold eagle were all shipped with USPS. -

eBay is so full of ***t, I reported many many fake listings, and they send me the generic email, "it's all good" They've lost my business of almost 2 decades. It's not hard to weed out the bulk sellers of crap, but they refuse to. Edited to add, it looks like they wiped out a bunch of listings, we'll see if that lasts... -

I think it's odd that NGC defines it that way. Why not just call it a Type 2 one-per-year set? (I know it's not really you I'm asking?) That is a very nice set. It is one of the most beautiful, if not THE most beautiful US coins. -

Cool find. Always fun to find Spanish silver. I too found some really slick Spanish colonial 1/2-, 1- and 2-reales pieces like that, back in my detecting days. Considering those were mostly struck in the late 1700s and they circulated in the US until 1857, they had plenty of time to get well worn out in commerce. I've even…
