Before you "invest" a lot of money into a slabbed set, do a search & read the threads on the US Coin forum about milk spots forming on slabbed silver eagles. Russ, you'd be surprised at how many people will refuse to dip PVC or haze off themselves. No matter how small the problem they don't trust themselves to do the dipping. I'd guess most of the problems that NCS takes care of are minor in terms of actual physical work needed to be done on them. Hard grime gets soaked.… -
"Unopened" proof and mint sets. Lessons learned, with photos! (Images fixed!)
I have just received 4 coin sets from EBay. 3 of the sets had "unopened" in the title. The other set said nice envelopes, not nice coins. Re: hypothetical PCGS or NGC guarantee scenario.
Ive had that happen twice with NGC. First time it was a 1961 franklin proof graded at PF-67 ultra cameo. The coin developed milk spots on the reverse so i sent it back. They offered to down grade the coin and pay the difference, get me a new coin, or just buy it back. I took the money and they kept the coin. Second time… -

Nope out of this game have you guy's seen the 2014's milk sopts every where. I sold all of my 14's they look like junk every coin had a spot or spots all over them. On hold on this one for now. PS:Wanted to say this was for the UNC not the PR.
