Re: Bought a whizzed coin represented as Proof from Ron Knight - anyone know him?
Maybe next you'll move up one level of scammer to no-name slabbed coins that are in MS65 holders and then wonder why no dealer will offer more than AU money for them. Maybe after that you will hook up with some "investment" firm selling "special" coins for 3x retail price and think you are getting some great hidden… -
Re: no gold conversation?
glad to hear things worked out well in the end. I am so paranoid with buying right now. I finally pulled the trigger on some gold last night on ebay, but not before spending half of the weekend browsing auctions, studying the sellers' feedbacks, etc. Between counterfeit coins, hijacked accounts and scammers you just can't… -
Re: Does eBay do anything with spoof e-mails?
What can they do? Most of these phishing scams originate from organized crime in Russia, China, Nigeria and rural areas in the Philippines...not exactly condusive to cooperating with United States law enforcement. It's quite simple really - NEVER open up an e-mail link and you won't have to worry about it. If the e-mail… -
Re: Dollar Giveaway Contest - Winners announced

Sorry didn't post sooner, can't post from work and I was busy working out the math during my lunch break today (I can show my work so you didn't think I copied ). Cool giveaway and thanks for the chance. 1) 400 rolls 2) 1974-D and then tell the story to the buyers that previous buyers have found many DDOs. Of course, if… -
Re: I got ripped off!!!
I'd never suggest fibbing, but let me just point out that if he did not use SIGNATURE confirmation (because it's over $250), he cannot prove to PayPal's satisfaction that you received the card. Unless he's disappeared from PayPal, too, they might be able to reverse the charge. Let me also point out that PayPal would not… -
Re: The Coin Posse POLL...
I know who the big coin doctors are. Does the posse know who they are? I am sure that they do. It's like I said before, this is a venture that just will not work, for too many reasons to elaborate on in this post. But, to respond to this poll, I think that you should add a choice to your poll: The eBay Scammers. They are… -
Re: Rec'd a trimmed card from Ebay today....gee
While I don't encourage EEK or anyone to fib, I will say that once you acknowledge in your complaint to PayPal that you received anything at all from the seller, your cause is dead. In a scam earlier this year I received a handfull of worthless 2003 commons instead of the 1965 Mantle PSA 8 that I paid for. The scammer used… -
Re: Another dishonest ebayer
This is the type of card that you shop around to a few auction houses, pick a reputable one that you feel comfortable with and consign the card. Basically, above, you intimated ‘I’d give up approximately 10-15% of this transaction to know the sale is final, that I’m not dealing with a creep or scammer and that I’m getting… -
Re: Another 1874-S WB-4 Seated Liberty half
if you possess a smartphone gen 6 or newer, you should be able to find a few angles to image a coin through a slab simply for diagnostic purposes pretty easily. don't worry about glare and such just so long as it isn't on the target area(s). also don't worry about orientation too much as that can be fixed quite easily in… -
Paypal is a great business partner
Paypal has always taken care of me. Most recently I sold $650 worth of coins off of my website. This turned out to be a fraudulent transaction and a CC chargeback came in. Paypal took the hit because I used a tracking number which got delivered. While they were investigating, another chargeback came in for an eBay…
