I'd go with the Mantle only because it appears to be a higher 2 grade than the Cobb appears to be in it's grade of 1. -

Coin #2. The why, I can't answer. I remember seeing #2 on the 'bay and thinking about bidding (in the end, I didn't). The reverse on #2 was had no color. I prefer my "*" coins to have color on both sides. -
