Re: The official Vintage Golf Card Thread
Thanks to some gracious folks I have a raw Karrie Webb or two on the way and also a graded Olazabal! Thanks everyone! The World Golf Hall of Fame announced their ballot for the 2011 Class today. In case anyone is interested, here is the complete listing of the candidates: PGA TOUR BALLOT: Miller Barber Fred Couples Ernie… -
Re: 3000 1960's cards.... now what do I do
Luke, do you intend to even sell these down the line? i didn't see that in your comments. If you're just looking to preserve these and maximize their worth by getting them graded,i recommend posting scans of the best players here. Like HGL said above, you won't get better honest unbiased opinions on what they could possibly… -
Re: Tired of Getting Hosed on Ebay for Raw Items
<< <i>When I see nice vintage high grade raw cards on eBay, I always wonder why they aren't graded in the 1st place. ...jay >> Jay - I generally agree, but often on Ebay I see these GREAT items that were left in Grandpa's desk drawers and attics - and they usually turn out to be HUGE revenue-potential items for me. Who… -

BGGS is BGAS??? HELP! need info.....

Hello folks. I've begun to get back into cards. It's been a long time. Last I knew, there were no slabs for cards. Anyways, what I'm confused about is whether BGGS and BGS are the same company? Any help is appreciated. Is there risk associated with BGGS cards? I see they seem to sell cheaper. Lastly, am I ok with PSA? I… -

<< <i>Just because something is 'meant to deceive' doesn't mean it's illegal. Kenny Goldin's act was 'meant to deceive', and nothing stopped him. They put the card up for auction, someone bids and pays, and the card AS DESCRIBED is delivered. End of story. I don't like it either, but 'not liking' something doesn't give you… -
Re: Ebay delists 9 of my auctions, over $10,000 worth of coins in the last day of the auctions
I have just about given up on ebay. about $3000 of PCI, SEGS, NTC (all hand picked and the proper grade described) and raw coins listed before the OCT 1 enforcement date were killed, then listings for raw paper money and mint sets where they claimed listing the face value was a violation, then Confederate currency where… -
Re: $326,000 refund Grading Services Revealed
Coinpictures, I think you missed the date of the FTC complaint. Dec 1987. At that time PCGS and NGC were only a few months old. The only long term established services from those you listed were ANACS, PCI and Accugrade. And at the time Accugrade was not thought of as a bad grading service. The white Capital Plastics type… -
Re: Issues w/ JJ Teaparty Auct RESOLVED!!! - THANKS FOR THE HELP, ALL! :)

Well, since you asked so kindly... I'll share 2/3. The third will likely show up in the BST soon - an 1814 O.105a "Single Leaf" in a PCGS 30 holder. The thing is, I already have that same variety in that very same grade cert'd by PCGS (haa!) and honestly don't know why I decided to buy another - impulse, perhaps? I mean,… -

<< <i>I do think there is room for interpretation of the HPA here and think it's ok to test the law. This is how laws in the US are made and refined, with use. The willingness to test boundaries is part of what makes America a great nation so it is good to see it in action in numismatics, in my personal opinion. >> There…
