Re: Anyone have a picture of Don Taxay?
For those who are interested, here's an article about Don Taxay that appeared in The E-Sylum: Volume 9, Number 1, January 1, 2006. << <i>DON TAXAY WHERE ARE YOU? Dick Johnson writes: "I had extensive contact with Don Taxay in New York City prior to 1971. He was employed for a time by Harmer Rooke, and launched an early… -
Re: What impact would this have on the Market?
Stuart, What would happen to the dealers if the market started to fall? In 2 weeks, the market can fall quite a bit. Think of how badly a market can fall during, say, a major show. Isn't that what happened in 89-90? Go to a show, and things didn't seem too bad. During the show, panic spread and inventory values dropped.… -
Extremely rare Holyoke MA, Hadley Falls Bank $5 Obsolete note

Last night, I was participating in the Live auction at Heritage, and came across an obsolete note that I was unfamiliar with. I researched all my obsolete books as well as online, and could find very little information on it. It didn't even appear at all in Don Kelly's Obsolete Paper Money book - something I have never… -

Re: I don't understant why this card went for $610.00??
First of all, know collector here I think would fall for that, if they would, then God help you because I can't. People are just so stupid when they fall for these kind of things. First of all, a real person who has a real steal wouldn't know anything about EX-MT, or know to write T206 or anything like that because it… -
Re: Gold just climbed the cliff!! Ask $887 12/28/08
think I know where MoneyLA is coming from. If gold reaches 1000 and passes 1050... it is truly a bullish sign would you not agree? All I can agree on is that if gold runs past $1000 one would have missed the first $300 of the cycle (40+%). And no, it's not a given that it cannot fall right back from $1000-$1150 and head… -
Re: Current Price Levels of High End Vintage…
1939 Play Ball Ted Williams: A very nicely centered PSA 6.5 sold for $14,500 in Spring of 2021 at REA. Williams RC was said to be on a downward trajectory around this time last year and a gorgeous perfectly centered PSA 5 Williams sold for $7,500 in the 2022 Fall REA auction. So I'm in on a perfectly centered PSA 5 at… -
Re: CAC grading results from SEGS crack outs
They try to discourage the use of unacceptable holders but I have seen plenty on ebay; the idea was to prevent false and misleading grading, in a case like this that would not be true at all. If you provide the cac holders then the segs holders to validate the variety, that would be the antithesis of misleading but be very… -
Re: When it really matters, the Boyz are getting schooled
Yeah grote15, I realize that the running into the kicker penalty says you need to give the punter a clear space with which to land and bring down his kicking leg. By the letter of the law this was running into the kicker, but I think we both know that Detroit's punter Sam Martin did not fall to the ground from the so… -
Re: Shipping fiasco

@Morgan13 No update available for the disaster? Is it safe to assume, that since you are ignoring the request for an update, that all is well and it just took a few extra days? Threads like this (and news stories and social media) are why every time there is a shipping issue, some people are happy to leap up and claim that…
