<< <i> << <i> << <i>i read this in the "Elephant Joke Book" many years ago, so i thot i'd share....quite possibly the worst joke ever.... >> Maybe I'm a moron (hope not but I don't get it. >> Neither I................. >> No soap radio No soap radio (often No soap, radio, No Soap Radio, sometimes "No soap... radio?", "No… -
Re: How many coins were melted down into bars to be placed in fort knox
I've heard many different years mentioned as the date of the most recent audits, and to my knowledge, no audit results detailing the number of bars, bar assays and serial numbers have ever been made available to the American Public. So much gold has been re-hypothecated and loaned out that no correlation exists between… -
Re: On the topic of Coast to Coast Coins, Paul Sims, Coin Depot...
<< <i>If CW and NN were to adopt a policy whereby dealers that overgrade their coins were not allowed to advertise, how exactly could that be implemented? >> First of all, they can reject ads that contain false statements. Dealers who take coins that have wear, doctor them to make them appear lustrous and represent them as… -
Re: Where does Beckett get off saying this?
Modern collectors are every bit a part of the hobby. New cards are every bit a part of the hobby. Even T206's were new cards when they were first issued. My point is, they are promoting false highs and false rarities to push thier price guides and grading service. This is what is dividing the hobby right now. Anybody still… -
Re: Have any of you built a secrect compartment or room?
My professional engineer father was always very handy in that regard...he actually built a large empty vault area behind and under a staircase, and then concealed it with a false wall, shelves, and a grocery pantry. The false back of the cabinet was held in place by an electro-magnet that needed to be plugged in to release… -
Re: For those who own a 1794 dollar or half dollar – or both
firstmint August 23, 2010: Having studied for many years the situation regarding the first silver dollars, I can say that I think we still don't have it quite right. Actually, we do. It is firstmint that does not understand the records. For instance, the waste book shows a total of 1523 oz. 12 dwt's were needed to create… -
2025 Batman, Superman, and Wonderwoman gold coins

I was surprised to see the mint will be releasing Batman, Superman, and Wonderwoman coins later this year in gold in the the one-half ounce size. This is a picture of the possible Superman coin. There is an interesting split in the release schedule for these three coins, the Batman and Superman should be released this… -
Re: MLB Promotes Jen Pawol, Its 1st Woman Umpire, For Saturday's Marlins-Braves Game
Hernandez lost his lawsuit because he was one of the worst umpires. He even had 3 calls over turned at first base in a single divisional playoff game. It didnt highlight anything, the lawsuit kept him from getting fired for being awful. Players hated him, social media and replay exposed him, his umpire ratings came out in… -
Re: Why is Eddie Murray under appreciated?
Oh that's precious. True or false: you said that I said something incredibly stupid that I had not in fact said. If true, why did you say that I had said something incredibly stupid that I had not in fact said? Answer those two questions and retain whatever dignity you're clinging to, or dance around them or ignore them.… -
Re: Walter Breen's accuracy
What Coinosauraus said, with one exception. Although his die variety work is not perfect, and some of what he wrote was from memory or little scraps of paper, in its time it was the best published. In my research I still go back to Breen's work and try to prove him either right or wrong. This same question came up in a…
