Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
The mint's distribution pattern still sucks. If you have job and don't have access to a computer or cell phone at the precise moment these things were sold, in the middle of the day, you are out of luck. I've been out of the corporate world for a long time, but even back in the '90s companies had the ability to monitor… -
Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
> Never work. What happens when the pre-order number exceeds the number minted? (The 2015 Platinum Proof and the 2016 American Liberty medals comes to mind.) At that point, it isn't a presale. It's just moving the on-sale date up on the schedule, with no product to sell on the promised date. Face it. If the Mint puts out a… -
Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
Forum newbies come in many forms. Just because I just registered under this name does not make me new to coins or the coin business. I've been buying and selling coins for over 30 years. I don't know whether you "long time members" have bought or sold more than the $3 million in coins that I have. I'm not arrogant enough… -
Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
The mint doesn't care who orders how many and who didn't get to order. The mint only cares that whatever product they sell, they get paid for. The mint has absolutely no incentive at all that I can see wherein they would implement some sort of plan to level the buying arena and make purchasing anything from them "fair." If… -

Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
The us mint is in the business of making money for the treasurey. They aren't fulfilling a constitutional duty to provide the great citizens of America a means to fill up books and boxes full of coins. They do the best they can and leave it at that. If you start putting all these crazy restrictions on coins there are going… -
Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
"The Buy It Now price is $ 459.00 Bucks but the bidding have been selling for around $300.00 Bucks Is that still to high since you can get one from the mint at $29.95 (not signed). Since when does a autograph signature command a 900% Mark Up? Isn't this Illegal and what does this do to the reputation of the signer? Is Mr.… -

Re: 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set (17XC) (SOLD OUT! )
It's really hard to know without knowing who it is and what their business model is. The bulk buyers with their 5% discount only paid $28.50. If you've got a store with top seller discount, your total fees are between 8-9% on eBay. Shipping of a single set is about $3 with commercial rates and a bubble envelope. So a $35… -
