   i was just wondering....500 for baseball (maybe), 3000 hits, etc in baseball...anything like that in football??? 15000 yards maybe? Loth

   Yeah, I have been curious about that too if there are magic numbers that pretty much guarantee HOF admission in football and basketball like there are in baseball. I just wish 3000 strikeouts (pitching) was taken just as seriously as 3000 hits in batting in HOF terms.

   not quite that high....10,000 gives you a pretty good shot, 12,000 is a virtual lock, I would say.

   Fred Taylor is close to 10,000 yds. I've been lucky enough to watch most of em. He's done it very very quietly too.

   12,000 is probably a pretty good mark. 10,000 is recognized as a very nice accomplishment, but Ottis Anderson and Ricky Watters are both over that mark, and neither player is in the HOF.
