2x2 instead of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 for PCGS Submissions?

I was getting ready to make my first submission to PCGS (some modern silver dollars, modern $5 gold, Ike Dollars, and Kennedy halves) and discovered that the submission form requires 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 flips. I had bought 2 x 2 safety flips. Is there a problem submitting the coins in these smaller safety flips? I have to take… -

I wouldn't recommend the 2x2 holders, particularly for dollars. The coins are a tight squeeze, which can more easily lead to the flips cracking open at the seams during transit. In addition, if PCGS relies on the 2 1/2" flip size in their handling procedures (which I think they do), it may be that your coins will be… -

FYI, Rick Montgomery of PCGS states that you should leave eagles in the capsule when submitting them to PCGS, and they will remove it for you. I would recommend this procedure to keep your coins in top condition, preventing haze and mishandling. I would not use the 2x2 flips for larger coins like dollars (not crapajaweas),… -
