Low serial number notes
I recently purchased an estate filled with crisp uncirculated 1-2-5-10-20-50 dollar notes., about 2200 face value. Many are star and low serial numbers, such as 3 and 4 digit. Some of these have numbers such as 1972,1971,2000 2005, etc. What are these type of notes worth and how should I sell them. I am new to currency… -

These all appear to be notes that were issued to collectors in special sets by the Treasury Department at a premium price. They were issued in special albums or folders, and if you have the original albums or folders these notes will probably be worth more to collectors. They are very nice looking notes! The low # are below 1000 (so the matching 00000153 with different Block letters would be a great trio to sell as a set). The other notes with 4 digits can be called "Year Notes" or even "Birth Year notes" (like 1973) which some collectors collect. The star notes can be called low range but…
