@gene58, just saw this post and as others have said they believe the 2 notes you pictured were copies. No notes from either the Confederate States of America or the Bureau of Engraving and Printing ever printed a note in black and white. Thanks. This confirms that the Confederate note is also a copy. If it were genuine, the signatures would be hand-written in some different kind of ink (which usually weathers to brown colored), than the rest of the note. With your better image, you can clearly see that the signatures were printed along with the rest of the… -

The bottom one (United States note) is definitely a copy. The note should not be monochrome. I am 98% sure the top one is also a copy, though I would like to see the signatures better. Genuine signatures on this Confederate note would be in different ink than what the note was printed with, the image is not detailed enough… -
