'84 Donruss always had the illusion of being printed in limited quantities and was always the most popular. It certainly was printed less thanTopps, but I think '84 Fleer is just as 'limited' as Donruss. The Fleer set has grown on me as my favorite of that year. All true. I probably prefer the Donruss set to the Fleer only because I like the photos better. Those Donruss seemed super tough to find back in 84, but Fleers seemed to be much easier. There is something super cool about the minimalist design of the Fleer set, but I never liked the photos as well. The Mattingly is a cool… -

I haven't looked it up to see what the ratio is for the 84 D set to the number subbed, but it's also a good indication of the quality of their cards that year. I recently got a handful of 10s on that set. It's just a quality set that still holds up to being graded/compared to modern cards with current grading standards.… -

There was a time when everyone was so enamored with 84 Donruss, maybe 2008-2010 and you could get your hands on it. Maybe 200 a box? Think tons were ripping and submitting. 4 Sharp was probably busting through cases. Set registry was very competitive and cards that gave people an advantage went for an extreme premium.…
