   Not sure how many of yall seen this but a group of 30 or so 1815/2 bust halves just hit the market. I wont list them all but some of these examples are super solid and havent been on the market. Crazy to see 5% of all survivors hit the market at once.…

   The 1815/2 is not a rare coin, it's just an expensive coin.

   Whenever I had an 1815/2 half dollar in stock, it did not last very long.

   What leads you to believe there are only 600 surviving 1815/2 Bust half dollars?

   I agree with Andy, lots of date set collectors looking for 1815/2. On Sheridan Downey's [Bust Half Dollar Dealer extraodonaire] table at shows it the most common question. Do you have any decent 1815/2s in stock?

   Wow, cool stuff! The 1815/2 might not be "rare", but it is a key date in a very popular series. There are a few very nice ones in @joebb21's Ebay listings too. I'm lucky I already have that slot filled with a very nice coin, otherwise I'd probably consider one of them.

   Of course you’re right but the old adage of “all leads are good leads” in sales rings here. By making it an extra level of proactive to initiate a rapport, the dealer misses out on nibbles that could turn into productive bites.    Why? They seem like perfectly good, acceptable topics. And the majority of them weren’t started today.

    However common it is, the collectors are far more common.
