Re: What is going on at sporting events lately?
Some have stated they've been to ballparks many times. Well so have I. There is an unspoken rule of cordiality amongst the fans, even on a home run ball. That guy clearly violated that rule by being in a place which he shouldn't have been. He belonged in his own dam seat, or the small area around his seat, not ten rows… -
Re: Cracked slabs on eBay
<< <i>I dont think the scam starts with buying a bunch of junk cracked slabs. I think the guys doing this would rather buy a legit Graded Mantle Rookie(or any high dollar card/product) and then carefuly crack the slab removing the legit Mantle. And then replace it with a trimmed or fake Mantle in its place. I dont think… -
Re: How do you identify a resealed wax pack?

<< <i>I love how this forum doesn't want to inform those who are somewhat new to purchasing packs about what to really look for. This common method that you guys hint at and seems to be noticiable if you know what you are looking for. I mean if your goal is to keep people out of this part of the hobby I guess not passing… -
Re: Notice: eBay policy change on upside down edge lettered Washington dollars
Yeah, my "NOT ERROR NOT RARE" auctions were piggybacked to the other listings, and many an angry seller sent me nastygrams. When ebay first yanked all the error and rare listings, mine was the only one left--and I thought that looked very weird. Then I received word of the policy change and knew why, but I would have… -
Re: Puzzling sale that could turn bad.
If the buyer has ebay feedback of at least a hundred, preferably more, and very few if any negs, I don't think you'll have a problem. If low feedback, then there's the unconfirmed address, and other things you mentioned - yes, that's possible trouble. I'm not sure if this is exactly the case here, but an old buyer scamming… -
Re: Smooth Edge counterfeit message at Ebay
That sucks, RVDavis. There is a very vocal and growing number of people who fell victim to Paypal's money freezes--when I read their stories I'm in disbelief. They will literally freeze accounts for seemingly no reason at all. Another reason to perform nightly sweeps and never keep a dime in there--the real scammers do… -
Re: 2006 AGE presale 11/27 Dutch Ebay auction # 2
<< <i>He mentions in the auction that some of the previous buyers never paid, which would account for him having "12" sets. He also offers a refund on December 1 if the sets don't arrive. Where's the scam? Or am I just missing something? >> Mentioning non-paying bidders in the auction to explain additional sets is exactly… -
Re: Sealed, My Ass
reminds me of yugioh boxes. I fell into a scammer who stated "sealed" "100% tournament legal". I won 5 yugioh boxes. Thankfully, I didn't pay right away. I received an email from someone who bought from him and told me about the scammer. Packs and boxes he sold him were reasealed. 2 days later seller's NARU. I learned to… -
Re: 1st Post...1st Observation...Rude Postings on "Buy & Sell Forum"??
<< <i>Welcome. I agree with you 95%. The exception will be if I think someone is being scammed or taken advantage of. If the posters don't like it, don't conduct your business on an Internet site open for all to read. Many scammers have been outed through these boards. >> I do see your point...yet I might consider a PM… -
Re: 1967 pete rose weird auction??
<< <i> << <i>Just goes to show that a lot of people have this same mindset and the thought of coming off as a scammer to graded collectors doesn't cross their minds. >> I'm sure it doesn't, but how are you to know that the flip goes with the card that's being sold? It's like those generic COA photocopies that sellers offer…
