Does the following description make any sense?
Here's the link! And here's the description; Nice luster and well struck from what appear to be late state dies, rough slightly golden surfaces and low relief on Monticello. Right off, I'll tell you that I don't agree with it. What would a weakly struck coin look like from what appear to be late state dies How can anyone… -
Re: Post your comments on these 1898 Half Dollars: COUNTERFEIT & REAL
Yes, a contemorary counterfeit from false dies. The dies were made from scratch! The star positions and the depth of the LIBERTY give it away. The coin is struck on good silver and has a very good clear ring. The wear pattern on it look very normal, not like it was artificially worn down. At the time the price of silver… -

Re: Error people - got this in change today...

i agree with tim in alot of his address here...they per se are...specimen strikes <<<What is next, with the Kennedy half dollars, there are several years when the coins were struck on quarter planchets, or have rotated dies, are these going to be required in the complete variety sets as well? >>> the above stated though… -
Re: What city would be the best candidate for finding key date coins with a metal detector?
As the story goes; In 1893 the Seminole Bank was robbed by a gang of Outlaws. Seminole, Okla. is 10 miles south of Keokuk Falls. The Outlaws got away with a chest of $20 Liberty Gold peices. The Marshall formed a posse and killed all of the robbers except for one who had the chest of gold. When the posse made it into the… -
