Re: Help needed to report counterfeit 1864-CC dollar to eBay
I report all fakes not listed as copy, no questions asked. I think it is very bad for the coin community as a whole to let less informed (usually new collectors) get burned by these scammers. Every time I see a fake on Ebay they always say the same stuff " genuine, bought at a coin shop, or I don't know much about coins"… -
Re: Autograph collection authentic? Cobb Wagner
Autographs like this are a tough racket - firstly, just like artists who can look at something and paint or draw it, there are a number of people out there who can look at a genuine autograph and write it somewhat accurately, and with some practice, it can be very accurate. Secondly, just because something is signed on old… -
Re: Ebay hurt by bad economy
On average ebay got 15k per year since 1998 from me with the exception of last year. In my experience it was a wonderful place at the beginning, truly the 'community' that they spoke about. You could talk to someone helpful if you had a problem and they actively solicited and more importantly listened to your feedback.… -
Re: What to do with an unconfirmed address?
If he has good feedback, good paypal feedback (it will tell you the number of verified transactions he has had), I see no signs of a hijacked account and I don't have any bad vibes, I accept the payment and ship the coin. Many buyers don't want to verify their address for privacy reasons. If I have any concerns my next… -
Re: So I'm sitting on ~20 unopened 2007-W SAEs
The sealed boxes were a wonderful thing on the 06 silver three piece set. I never understood why someone would buy the sealed box in the hopes of making 70's, given the very high cost to grade 30 coins (30 x $24 each) and the low rate of random 70's. For my money, I look at the coins and not wrap 24 bucks around any… -
Re: No one has picked this up?
<< <i>Hopefully if he is committing fraud he will get busted. I don't know the answers to any of the questions I was asked above. Honestly, I don't care about packs that much and have never bid on or owned one, tracked any or cared about any, nor do I see me starting to. I really don't have a lot more to say except maybe… -
Re: Protecting Yourself From Fraudsters When Shipping Packages!
I am not an attorney, but I cannot see this holding up in court if you have to sue someone. First depending on the format that your recorder uses, I am going to assume avi or MP4, it would not be hard for an attorney to say that the video was doctored and have it thrown out as evidence. Most people do not realize that even… -
Re: BIN's are taking over on FEEBAY...no more cheap vintage good PSA 8's on FEEBAY!!!
<< <i> << <i>Look at it this way. Where would we be without Ebay or Paypal? >> You mean feebay and pigpal....we'd have been better off without them...especially Pigpal... did you see their new logo? It makes me puke...."the most loved way to pay and be paid" ...we don't need them and they should be broken up.... they are a… -
Re: My mistake, my problem?? What would you do?
Paypal sucks. I had a sale going that showed as "pending" in eBay. Two weeks later, the very patient buyer asks whether or not I mailed the product. So, I check PayPal's website and found that it was never pending, it went through two weeks ago. eBay's site had the wrong information. A few apologies and a special trip to… -
Re: I wonder if ebay screwed me in reverse?
As far as can be determined, no listings are being taken down for offering to accept paper payments. On January 15, EBAY claims, such listings will be poofed. ............. Since EBAY claims that about 90% of payments are already PayPal, the change should not be a big deal. Sellers can still accept paper, IF the buyer…
