Re: CoinWeek Article: "Do Young Coin Collectors Grow Up To Be Successful Adults?"
Sure, I think coin collecting does teach some valuable things. It forces you to be detail oriented. In the pursuit of coins, you learn about the markets and the scammers. It teaches you to be cautious, wary, and to do your "homework." I think it also could push someone to learn about history, geography, etc, based on the… -
Re: So I just took a shot in the dark... *Updated /w Pics*
One time an ebay scammer had 100 lots for sale to supposedly be given out unsearched at random to all 100 buyers, with the total value of the cards posted, far exceeding the total cost of the 100 lots...so I emailed him and told the little bastige that I was interested in buying all 100 lots and that I would be videotaping… -
Re: Suspicious EBay Seller

ebay is horrible when it comes to taking action against scammers/ rule breakers - there is this one guy i reported several times for intentially outbidding the high bidder to see his proxy bid max and then he retracts and push the auction up to just under the high bidders max - at first i thought it was a company shilling… -
Re: eBay Guides - Useful Information Hidden There? Have You Written One? Please Review Mine. If You Have
Great lists. If it is ok I'd like to put a link to that first list in my auctions on eBay. I'll be sure to give Anaconda Rare Coins credit, too. I'd imagine it would be no problem, but I figure I should ask anyway. I get way too many newbie questions from my auctions on eBay. While newbie questions are fine -- we all… -

<< <i>I dont have a scanner. I called PSA and they said to make a copy and send it to them in the mail. There is no way I would make a copy and send it to anyone! I would bring it to them to examine but no copies! >> How about pics with a digital camera? - you can't possibly harm it that way. I don't blame you for not… -
Re: Steve Hart/BBC Exchange Story
I have some packs that I made 20 years ago, they are easter packs with the cards packed inside a chocolate bunny. They were not cherry picked but I suspect the choclate may make them a little off grade. I am sending them to Global for submission to be labeled as aftermarket bunny packs. GIVE ME A BREAK , there is no reason… -

Re: Anyone see the eBay thread of the liteside?
The rules against quoting catalogue values are laughable. Major coin auction houses and top dealers will continue to quote these figures in their domains and rightfully should do so. I suppose ebay is trying to shut down scammers who use catalogue values to overstate their coins' worths. Big deal - that's one of the… -
Re: A question I'm uncomfortable asking.....
IMHO, many owners of collectibles have staged thefts of their own property. Similarly, the most ideal buyer of stolen collectibles is the victim flush with insurance proceeds. The victim's emotional attachment to the objects is worth much more than their discounted value on the black market. I recall a few scams like this… -
Re: HELP I am getting hosed here
Was any promise made (written or verbal) in regards to condition? If not, I'm afraid you don't have a leg to stand on unless you can find some other way he misrepresented his goods. If he did misrepresent his cards, you may try to file a complaint with the postal service and the postal inspectors are pretty good about…
