Re: Georgia man charged with $180,000 Ebay fraud involving 1 oz. American eagle coins
How could he stay current on ebaY if he was scamming that much? I mean, I know ebaY doesn't ever NARU the right people at the right time, but $180,000 worth? They came after me and shut down my auctions because I use "Zippo-like" in the text of one lighter auction. I don't get how he could have gone so long. Sounds like… -
Re: Just sold $9000 worth of coins to a new ebay user...
Just on the name of the winners Ebay ID, I would put the odds at 70% scam. It is the kind of name sock puppets and phishers tend to use. Kind of generic, but not overly generic. Common names, yet unusual in that first and last name combination. I'm sure lots of folks with common names are honest, unfortunately, scammers… -
Re: "Professional" grading service certifies rare proof nickels
<< <i>How come 90% of these sleazes are in Fla? >> Because there's so many old geezers here in Florida... I mean... I doubt these guys set-up only to rip people off online... I bet they get more of their business ripping off little old ladies with a storefront... it would be interesting to see if there are any trends on… -
Re: I got "WHIZZED"
I'm sure there are a number of legitimate dealers and collectors who sell coins on Ebay, and you very well may have good experiences buying raw on Ebay. However, I hear of more problems with scammers and not-so-legitimate sellers that I think its fool hardy to buy raw coins from someone you don't know. I listen to those… -
Re: I almost placed a bid before I saw the shipping cost....
Well, turns out the seller was a brand new eBayer who thought she was listing correct shipping fees etc. A very sweet young woman in fact... whose father owns a mail store... where she got actual shipping qutes :-) She has ended the auction and will relist it. Turns out she learned a lot from the attention she received...… -
Re: PLEASE HELP ME!! WANTS TO CRACK OPEN GEM ELITE SLAB!
www.gacard.net I think prior to cracking it out, you should just submit that card in the case to GAI pending that the seller refuses to refund (most likely he won't; all scammers take the $ and run). You can mark it as "crossover" with the minimum grade. Worse case scenario is if it's a fake, they'll just send it back… -
Re: ebay sellers tirade part 2!!! theeeyy'rre baaaaaaacckkkk
I hope momma's not still waiting to be buried -- and not depending on the money from this auction. Boy, he's sure angry at those who don't believe him. I guess he doesn't realize that AAA Grading Service is regarded as little different than a toploader with a handwritten sticker that says "Genooine Babe Rooth Kard -- Mint"… -

Re: Guess I had a drunk buyer!
From the USPS website: "USPS Package Intercept® lets you redirect a domestic shipment that hasn’t been delivered or released for delivery. It’s available for packages, letters, and flats with a tracking or extra services barcode." Also, to protect yourself from scammers who try to redirect a purchase by submitting a change… -
Re: What steps should ebay take?
One thing ebay/paypal should do is make sure that the scammers who get caught get better publicity. The PR department should be sending out press releases on every culprit they nail. They catch many more than the public is aware of and sharing it with the public would attract customers that are scared to deal on ebay. <<…
