Re: johnny bench master set has become a joke !
In general, there should be not be different weighting for registry master sets. You will never get a concensus as to how individual cards should be weighed. Simply because one person paid a lot of money on a single occassion for an oddball card, does not mean that oddball card should have higher weight that a RC or second… -
PSA weighed grades
As we know, certain cards have a higher weight than others. Here is the question.. If One card has a weight of lets say 4 and another card has a weight of lets say 1 and the card weighted a 4 can be found in Psa 6 and the Card weighted 1 can be found in a psa7. Which of these card would raise my percentage better in the… -
Re: Can a set be re-weighted ?
I'm guessing no one received their February SMR yet. Joe Orlando brings up weighing in his "Taking my hacks" column. Seems they are contemplating changing the weighing from a 1-10 scale to a more appropriate scale. 1-25, 1-100. He uses the 52 Topps BB set as an example of a set where the Mantle should weigh a lot more than… -
Re: Bonus points for the best
<< <i>I don't really understand the whole "weighting" idea in the first place. I thought the idea was to measure the quality of the set, not it's value. A weighting based on rarity might make sense, I don't understand basing it on value. Especially when such considerations are routinely ignored anyway on all but the… -
Re: Weighting Sets
Probably not. Joe based his weights on the SMR when he originally did them. One thing we will probably do, which is what we are currently doing for the PCGS Set Registry, is post the suggested weights for a week on the news page to allow registrants to send us any feedback they may have. This has been working well for the… -
I like the new Weighing status. Is there at ETA for all Set completion?
I think the way PCGS is handling the new weighing of the SetRegistries is great. I don't own a Washington set, but after looking at it, think it is absolutely fair to all the way the quarters are weighted. (I'll reserve judgement on the clads/State quarters- it doesn't appear they're weighted that much). I'm not absolutely… -
Re: Registery Question?
<< <i>Hi, I have a player collection of David Wright which I would like to setup a registery for. Either a Master Player Collection or a RC player collection. How can I do that? I'm not familar with the process. Thanks in advance >> You just need to make a request on the PSA Set Registry home page. Your request will be… -
Re: Player Set Registry
Hi Everyone, No, I have not been on vacation. I have spent the last two months working day and night (literally) on the Canadian Coin Set Registry which I launched last week. And, the first two weeks of this year, I have been traveling to shows. Now I'm back in the office for a while and am concentrating on getting sets up… -

Re: OPC Ryan rookie sold
I'm still looking for a 1973 Topps #615 Schmidt RC/Cey. Every week there are plenty of Topps to choose from, but they are all going for more than what I paid for my OPC of same grade. And I really don't think I got a smokin' deal on my OPC, but it's hard for me to pay more for a much more common Topps version of the same…
