Question on authenticity of $2 1/2 Liberty
I mainly collect $2 1/s Indians, but have a few Liberties as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on this coin? It is a rarer date, which is why I am nervous about a raw purchase. I realize obscuring the date and mint mark make it harder to determine, but I want it to remain somewhat anonymous. -

Nobody can collect everything, nobody has ever been able to. * Look at what's available. * Choose something you like. * Figure out what's affordable from Step 2 and collect that. * Go back to Step 2 if Step 3 doesn't include any options that are of interest. -

These "controversies" would only affect future value if the "controversy" in question resulted in coins being either withdrawn and destroyed or simply not issued in large numbers, with a "replacement" design where the controversial aspect is rectified being issued in larger numbers. I bought a 1/4, 1/2 and a 1 Idaho - artwork was neat and he sold them at his cost as part of a larger deal. I will give them to a HS graduate (with a 2026 ASE). So not stupid - and 42 million with various sizes and artwork shows people aren't stacking but simply buying a few as conversation pieces
