Re: The arguement FOR conservation of coins and the wise use of services offered by NCS.
i think the "Conservation coin of the month" is really just a marketing tool they use to demonstrate how much they can really do. if memory serves me correctly, when NCS first started they championed the fact that not every coin is a good candidate for conservation and evaluationwas a key element of their service. that is… -
Re: Collecting 1991 Topps errors/variations

Another wrinkle to the 1991 Topps Variation/Error list - Going through this set recently noticed that some players have a dark spot or hashmark on the the "4" in the the "40 Years of Baseball" Logo. Most players have a corrected version but some do not. Most with corrected versions are equally divided in quanity between… -

Re: Dirty lincoln
My experience with copper and the look of the spot lead me to say no. It looks like mild carbon spotting (mild in terms of depth, not size). Spots such as these are not really on the surface but lie beneath the field as well. Thus, even careful removal by whatever means, will leave a "pit" in the surface of the coin. -
Re: Why don't Peace Dollars come toned like Morgans????
I have heard the acid dip story also but can not find a source on the Internet. I heard that it is what causes the milk spots or water spots on uncirculated Peace dollars. Those spots do not dip out. Re: Let's talk about our "Jimmy the Greek specials"
now that i've slept on it, i can talk about it. when you lose a 29-point lead, you have to do things yourself to make that happen. in the first half, the Spurs shot 14-of-26 from 3........they were unconscious. scored 76 points. that's not sustainable, and that should have been the halftime speech. maybe it was, idk. if… -

Re: Grade the Franklin
It looks like it should cam, but with PCGS right now they are being awefully tight on cam/dcam coins. They could bone you due to the fade toward the bottom of Franklin's bust and the top of the bell. In my book, it should be a cam all the way, but they are being really weird. If those are milk spots on the obverse and…
