Re: OOH! Lookie what came in today!

<< <i>For those unaware, here is the definition : hairlines: Fine cleaning lines found mainly in the fields of Proof coins, although they sometimes are found across an entire Proof coin as well as on business strikes. >> That's not a suitable definition in this case, since the coin has never been cleaned. It was hairlined… -
Re: If they were as popular as coins, would you collect stamps?
No. I played around with stamps when I was a little kid. There was a stationary store in town that sold BIG bags of stamps really cheap. They had to be cheap because I bought them and my family was dirt poor. They were BORING. Then, when I was around 9 years old or so, I spotted a Barber dime for sale in the same store. It… -
Re: Let's talk about our "Jimmy the Greek specials"
now that i've slept on it, i can talk about it. when you lose a 29-point lead, you have to do things yourself to make that happen. in the first half, the Spurs shot 14-of-26 from 3........they were unconscious. scored 76 points. that's not sustainable, and that should have been the halftime speech. maybe it was, idk. if… -

Re: 1996 SE
<< <i> << <i>I would not blindly send the roll in. There is a good chance they all could be milk spotted. Put some gloves on and crack it open >> Oh no I won't do that. I plan on taking them to a local coin shop, he is a PCGS dealer. I have an 1864 2 Cent piece that should be graded and an 1854 large cent , large motto… -
Re: Heading to Sebastian Inlet this moring...wish me luck!!

Well I made it back safe........didn't find a whole lot but I found out the Brevard county went in and replaced a bunch of the beach that had erroded after the Hurricanes last year so in essence that sprayed a layer of sand over the top of everything which means that I may have to rush out after the next storm to have a… -
Re: 1st non 1st strike 20th Anniversary that I have seen

You can send in your submissions with a Minimum Grade so if they have milk spots they dont get graded and sent back but at leas you can get 20th ANN lable. The collectors that have boxs not open dont know how good they have it first shot at first stirke 20th ANN on all 3 coins that is a + in my book -
PCI holdered AH Kennedy, up close and personal.

Bought this jewel the other day, and assumed from the holder that this coin would likely be a 66 Cam by my standards, and paid about that money. I thought the photo montage would be interesting to newbies. The label - The obverse, shot from a flattering angle. A few small hairlines, and one milk spot. Evidence in the top… -
Re: 2006 Silver Eagle Anniversary Sets, Sell, Hold or Buy More?
I agree with the people discussing milk spots. Holding slabbed sets is dangerous for ASEs. Investigate where you live and the conditions you store the coins in to see if they spot or not. Use UV lights to notice spots before they become visible in white light. Spotting has been reported for both slabbed and unslabbed but… -
