Re: Ebay Poll: Would you take Paypal on a $3,000 to $4,000 card?
In all honesty if you're pricing that card at between $3000 and $4000 the only kind of buyer you'll likely attract will be a scammer because he knows he's getting it for free. It's not a $3000 to $4000 card. While you got a good deal on the card, tossing it in a PSA authentic slab doesn't suddenly add thousands in value to… -
Re: Finders Keepers?
If it is traceable, it goes back. I also will not return anything to someone who cannot describe the item. If people ask, I tell them I found a platinum ring with three diamonds.... and if they try to claim it, I say describe it. When they cannot, I say sorry.... if they get a policeman, I produce a laminated, dated card… -
Re: How often do you see ICG graded coins at shows?
I certainly see the slabs at all of the shows, but they seem to lack a specific US coin niche. The high-end dealers and coins gravitate to PCGS and NGC slabs, and the scammers and problem coins to SEGS and PCI (or ACG or whatever). ANACS has the varieties niche and the niche for nicer cleaned and damaged coins, as well as… -
Re: eBay problem....A Canadian wins my USA only auction......
I have the same policy as Russ for the very same reason.....PAYPAL. I have no protection against chargebacks. I very rarely sell Canadian coins so this isn't usually an issue. Since PAYPAL is the favorite form of payment these days I REFUSE to take a chance with non-US bidders. Call me conservative or narrow-minded....but… -
Re: Are you tired of fraud? How much have you lost?
<< <i>The seller has provided the following information in response to your complaint, indicating that the item was shipped. Tracking Company: Other Tracking Number: 000000000 >> This shows you how much interest PayPal takes in complaints that are filed. A human isn't even involved, it's all handled by computer. And… -
Re: Here's a new eBay problem. How would you handle it?
Asking, "Why didn't you contact me sooner?" invites further contact from the buyer/scammer. Stating, "It's been 6 1/2 months and the package can no longer be tracked. You should have contacted me sooner," is more final. Had you shipped insured, the time limit for filing a claim is 60 days (APO/FPO/DPO is 180 days). The… -
Re: Are you tired?
Come over to Facebook ... there's tons of groups for buying, selling , trading and daily auctions. All free (no fees), and you get to deal directly with real people and not faceless sellers. (just be careful which groups and people you deal with when new, as there's a learning curve to the groups, and there are scammers… -
Re: First time I've seen this feedback rating before...
Not just a minus-1 feedback rating, but the neg is for nondelivery. Of an expensive rare gold coin. Even those people who bid hundreds or even thousands of dollars on Chinese 1804 dollar replicas or "1870-CC" silver eagles are going, "dude, how stupid do you think we are?" I guess bidders don't have a monopoly on… -
Re: Shipping included? Please advise
So, here is what happens: Seller agrees to combine for shipping. Buyer gets it, and there is only one coin. Sellers says he shipped 2, buyer says just one. Now off to the ebay resolution arena. Weight is within tolerance, as there is some "heavy" packaging. Ebay sides with: Buyer Seller Take your pick, but someone is out… -
Re: american caramel joe jackson PSA 1 on ebay
If you look at the prior feedback they are all baseball cards. The photo quality of the Yogi Berra is the same as the Joe Jackson primary scan. The fact that there are multiple photos I believe is a good thing. A lot of the scammers have one photo. When you look at the sellers other listing the Mantle looks mint and I…
