1913 type 1 3 1/2 legs in a Heritage auction, question about color and toning

Here is a nice 1913 ty1. 3 and one half legger in a current Heritage auction. I was really taken aback by the beautiful color shown in the trueview pictures But if you compare the truview pictures with the coin shown in its slab they appear to be two different coins. How do you get such a colorful true view pic from the… -

It's been a while since I’ve been able to do another one of these Browning variety posts, and unfortunately 1824 is another lean year with just one variety. The 1824 Browning-1 variety is called an R-3 in both the Rea/Peterson/Karoleff/Kovach book on bust quarters, and the Tompkins book. The Tompkins book notes the obverse… -
1838 Half Dimes - Linking the Reverses of V-6, V-9, V-13, and V-1

In a discussion on the Liberty Seated Coins Boards, @yosclimber posted a draft 1838 half dime die pair table (see https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/seateddimes/1838-new-die-marriage-t5957.html). In it, three different reverse dies are listed for V-1, V-6 & V-9, and V-13. This was based on the presence of the "notched leaf"…
