Re: Mail Call - What did you get? Today or something you just want to share? Created Jul 2005
For those not familiar with the Ed Delahanty story ... Quite interesting. Delahanty died when he was swept over Niagara Falls in 1903. He was apparently kicked off a train by the train's conductor for being drunk and disorderly. The conductor said Delahanty was brandishing a straight razor and threatening passengers. After… -

Re: Real or Fake???? 1795 Dollar Double Struck
I am very dubious, and would want to see it in hand before offering an opinion as to authenticity. One possible WAG, strictly for the sake of conversation: Genuine coin environmentally damaged, perhaps in the ground; heavily tooled by the fool that found it; then given a false second strike from false dies copied off the… -
Re: Found in a roll.....A cool Lincoln.
To make a pair of false dies, place a coin between two sheets of relatively soft metal, such as aluminum or brass, and squeeze them all together in a bench vise. The design of the coin will be sunk into the two sheets of metal. Now move one (as in this case) or both sheets of metal relative to the coin and squeeze again.… -
Re: Martellus Bennett cracks me up
I completely agree with ya. It goes even deeper than that with the health effects, and it bugs the living yell out of me when i read nonsense such as nobody ever died from smoking marijuana. That premise is absolutely false, and I'll leave it at that. BTW - You mentioned the car accidents. A guy who hung around with us in… -

<< <i> No actually Im NOT kidding. Burress is a good receiver, I never said he was bad. Shockey is a great TE as well. I dont follow the Giants obviously but I do follow Football and IMO I think their Offense is a bit slow, Toomer is another good receiver but what I meen about Playmakers is big name players like a Owens,… -
Re: $3 gold collectors
<< <i>they both have the same mark on the cheek too. i say fake now for sure. hope you didn't buy them. >> Excellent observation. The original genuine coin that was used to create the false dies had a bag mark at that location which was transfered to the die and then subsequently transfered to the coins struck by the false… -
Re: For those of you who want a playoff in college football
I disagree with you. The fact is that in college basketball there will be ONE true national champion Tuesday morning. It does not mean they were "the best" team that year. It means they made it through the playoffs just as the "champion" is determined in most every other sport starting at age 6 or 7. To only have two…
