Re: POLL: Hinges, mounts, or hingeless albums?
<< <i>Since I only collect early, all I needed was their volume I. >> That's more or less where I stand. I cut my US collection off at the end of Scott's National Part I (Up to the 1934 issues ending with 751, I think). I used to try and keep up with modern US, but realized a few years ago that that's all I was doing,… -
Re: Guess what!? We FINALLY started our 1971 Topps set quest with my wife's favorite, Carl Yastrzemski!
Well, Yaz just arrived in the mail today! I want to put a pic up but how do you put the pic on here? The image button gives you a link to a URL or something but how do you post a pic from your computer and place it on the message (like all the other guys showing off sets can do)? I guess just one down, 751 more to go, eh?… -
Re: Does it really matter what the PCGS pop report says about finest known modern Crap ?

Many dealers hype the low pops only to themselves be responsible for future pop increases. Sort of like a… -
Re: Friday night coin fun - The scarcest business strike US coin in my collection... (post yours)
This made me curious - what are some of the lowest known mintage business strike US coins, by denomination? Maybe a little different from current scarcest (which also involves survival). mintage denom date desc1,390 1/2c 1796 with pole11,056 1c 1793 liberty cap1,000 3c silver 1872 1,000 3c CN 1885 1,500 to 2,000 5c half… -
Re: Let's start a new HOF Debate. Who among these guys gets in?
Honestly, I question why Nomar is even in the discussion. Maybe 5 year ago, but not now. Hardly dominant and the injuries kill him. Baseball-reference has him compared to the following Miguel Tejada (850) Chick Hafey (841) * Ken Williams (835) Magglio Ordonez (823) Wally Berger (815) Scott Rolen (804) Jackie Robinson (802)… -

Re: need an expert of type 3 double Eagles
Cool, Lets take the 1885 20$ as an example. with a limited cir. striking of 751 pieces and 77 proofs one would think that one set of dies were used for both with the only difference being polished pallets and a stronger strike from extra pressings since the life span for a set of dies of 20$'s is around 120000 pieces. This… -
Re: Santa Clara Coin Show Day 1+2 - Look inside to meet some of our very own forum members. (Added more
I've been at the show the whole time and will be there tomorrow walking the floor or at 751. I saw WTCG and 62bluevette, but haven't really seen too many of the other board members. Probably because I have been wandering around more and not fixed at a table at this show. Unfortunately the show has been 180 degrees…
