When eBay suspends a seller AFTER you pay
The seller is gone, no way to look up his contact info. eBay won't share any info beyond saying he's been suspended and his auctions removed. Plus if he's suspended he's probably a scammer and neither has my merchandise nor intends to give a refund. I can file a PayPal claim, but the Buyer Protection page says I only get… -
Re: **UPDATE** Huckster at Work on EBay, Folks! You make the call!
<< <i>This is very satisfying to know that there is going to be a large cost to him for being a Thief and a Scammer. Much better than a NEG in this case. BTW, Thank you EVERY One for the support! >> I have seen these spots develop very quickly with temperature changes...You call a guy a thief, a scammer and call for… -
Re: Sell on ebay or Auction house?
Ebay pros: quicker sale, probably less fees than an auction, better idea of what you might get for your coins Ebay cons: much more work (listing auctions/packing/shipping to individual buyers), risk of scammers Auction pros: can't think of any Auction cons: probably higher fees than ebay, wait longer for your money The… -
Re: 20th Anniversary Coins and Ebay Shill Bidding
The scam of sending boguis second chance offers (sent by scammers, not the seller) is widespread. The last $1,000 plus coin I received one on. The scammers are very good at making the first e-mail look like it is from e-bay. But to get a second chance offer right after the auction for a slabbed coin, when there were 3-4… -
Re: WI "added" leafs showing up on ebay
Bob Ford got a refund from this seller, thanks in part to the exposure on this board: He said: I assure you I am not a scammer and feel very hurt by the postings at http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=390870 I did not get this far on ebay by being a scammer. Please understand Honest mistakes… -
Re: Did you bid on counterstamps in this weekend's Heritage auction....Got Chopmarks?
You can PM him by clicking on his name and following the prompt to message. You may want to post your own photos of the pieces you acquired as we are skeptical of new members responding to want lists. I once had a new guy contact me about an auction lot I missed and set up a want ad here. But when I asked for photos, he… -
Re: An interesting e-mail (following an eBay bid)
1) I would agree english is NOT that person's 1st language. 2) He may not even be in the UK....even though the domain for the email is there 3) I would be VERY wary of this (I wouldn't do it, personally) There was an article last month in the local paper I believe. About an ebay scammer and he talked about what he does,… -
Re: Just bought an 89-year-old man's collection - I'm heart-broken
The worst that usually happen to the scammers is the customer asks to return it because it was determined to be fake, whizzed, substantially over-graded or otherwise basically a flat out fraud! What should happen is some type of government and legal action to punish the scammers for the sake of the hobby. A jewelry and… -
Re: Why Do Most eBay Sellers Shoot Themselves In The Foot??
Often the fuzzy small pictures bring much higher bids than good photos. Why? Because the coins are crapola, and a lot of people like playing fuzzy picture roulette. No returns guarantees the scammer seller can move on and fry more fish. Ebay is a very big ocean. Lousy feedback almost always means lousy coins. Even 100%… -
Just an FYI on Paypal Gift/Payment Owed Transactions for Sellers Protection.
Just because its sent as a Gift or Payment Owed transaction, does not guarantee the funds are going to clear. As many of you know, I contacted "waltscoins" who is now a known scammer on this site about purchasing his 1oz AGE. I sent him a paypal payment owed payment in the amount of $1360. Within hours of sending him the…
