Re: Scumthumper to the Rescue!
You do the math. This was too easy for him. He'll be back for more. Take a look as some of his past auctions where he wasn't caught. The problem with this type of scammer is that he can get away with it very easily, and even if he is caught, he can just deny knowing that the coins were fake. Deplorable!! This 1800s?… -
Re: 2001-W 1/10oz PCGS MS69DCAM Hmmmmm!!!!
Thanks for everbodys input. Either my three emails asking for the cert#'s or someone tipped him off. He pulled the auction. I have emailed a couple of times to find out what happened and did not get a response. I was hoping he was an honest person and that there was a chance that I was on to something unique. I read all of… -
Re: Neutral Feedback. A useful tool?
I find that as a seller, most buyers don't bother with feedback anymore Then you're doing it wrong. When I used to leave feedback when I got their payment, I would get around 50% feedback. This also left me open to a bunch of scammers and headaches. Then I switched to placing a note in the package that states: "I will be… -
Even the Taliban's Counterfeiting US Coins Now!!!

Well I guess this just proves how "Super Nova White Hot" the coin market is. Once the Taliban starts manufacturing coins the end is near. 7 -- 1846 Seated Liberty $ -- all from a market in Afghanistan -- what are the chances?? << <i>You are bidding on a beautiful 1846 seated liberty dollar that I came upon during my… -
Re: Have you ever sold a coin that is presently worth 10 -15 % of what you sold for ?
In the late 1970's those brown-box Ikes were selling at $100 or more. You had to be careful, though, because the "scammers" were cracking the cases and placing a clad inside. I remember around 2003 when 1973-S PCGS PR69DCam Jefferson Nickels were a low pop coin and I was trying to get one graded for my set. I managed two… -
Re: scam alert on eBay
part of the problem is caused by eBay - so you could say they are the scammer Here is the coin partially described -> https://ebay.com/itm/1896-O-MORGAN-S-1-PCGS-MS-64/203026390182?hash=item2f4550dca6:g:IMIAAOSwdihf8CEz below the pictures is a button that says $ have one to sell SELL NOW if you hit the SELL NOW button,… -
Re: Here is one you definitely don't see everyday. 26 S Lincoln
<< <i>there are plenty of old timers that just simply don't do plastic. >> Yeah, but no one leaves that much money on the table when selling on eBay. Look at his other pieces. Why would anyone let a legit 09-S VDB that is red/unc go for a raw price on a site known for scammers when $50 could net a huge amount more? Yes,… -
Re: Does Mastro have hidden reserves?

That sounds like a bitter experience with Mastro, and I sure hope such doesn't befall me as a consignor. I have my own ugly tales about eBay and PayPal, and the last time the scammer understood and manipulated the system so cleverly that neither company could or would help me, despite an outright $950 loss to the criminal.… -
Re: Somethig odd with an eBay bidder and auctions he wins...or is this just coincidence
Second chance offers can only be completed through ebay. If you get an offer that says to contact the seller only, it is a scam. I have often offered items that I had duplicates of with this procedure. When a second chance offer is made, ebay creates a listing (with item #) which can easily be verified. Just plug the #… -
Re: Easy money
its an interesting approach- make your auction look so bad that people start thinking there is no way a scammer could be that dumb and therefore must be legit. Here is the response to my trade offer they sent me just before they went NARU- do you think they'll still sell if to me now? Response from mother060 : Item- t206…
