Re: Mint-sealed Box of Cheerios Dollars? Well, not exactly, but...

<< <i> according to the numbers General Mills puts on the back of the box.... How many boxes of cereal would have to be put out in order to distribute 5500 coins ? How many certificates for 100 are there ? Where did they go ? What of those certificates that were probably never redeemed ? How many people toss out the… -
Re: updated UPDATE: For my last official hunt by just me I've decided to try something
Got to the first target today....found the farmer about 1 mile down the road and he informed me that he could not give permission as Corporate in Illinois owns the 6,000 acres it sits on, and he just farms for them. Strike one. But did try the detector out and it is working, made the trip ok. Next shot is Saturday, one… -

Re: Which Post War HOF has the most ascetically pleasing run of base cards?
I'd go Mattingly, Brett, Ryan, and Mantle. The Mick's 51, both 52s, both 53s, 54, 56, 57 are awesome. I also like the 60. I'll admit his 60's are real standard poses. Brett's 75, 77, 78 portrait, 79, are all sweet. I also love his 83, 85, and 86. Donnie's 84T&F fielding, his 84 and 85D portraits, his 85F, 86T, 88F&T...all… -
Dustin Pedroia and the beat goes on
A rare Red Sox comment from me. While searching other sports issues, I came across the recent announcement that one Dustin Pedroia, once beloved 2nd baseman of the Red Sox has now put his home up for sale. Located in the very, very tony neighborhood of Chestnut Hill, some 4+ miles due west of Fenway Park, asking $8.95m.… -
Results from Ballarat

Well I got up at 4:00am Friday morning and was out the door by 5 as planned. I got to Ballarat right at sunrise and although quite cold, there was no wind and no people. I have come to realize after this trip that this place is so full of trash that only the most patient of detectorist's will succeed in finding worthwhile… -

Re: The Melting Continues - And It's Not Platinum & Gold Eagles!
Thanks Mitch for the sharing! How about the Kennedy's? I imagine they too are dissapearing into the Pot O' Melt. Not that there seems to be a shortage. Good to hear some of the Silver Quarters will be eliminated. The series could use a bump. I still wonder, oh how I wonder, how much of the current stock of Platinum…
