Re: A eBay Buyer for your Blocked list
Hi. I went ahead and blocked him for my auctions based on what you said, but I'm confused. I just pulled him up...with lower-case corrections, as "lindaandsam443" and I see this guy with a 14-count feedback and 100%. I see he has 3 transactions in the past 90 days and after looking at his transactions as a buyer, can't see… -
Re: Package not received - paid through PP - what to do?
<< <i> << <i>The post office tracking number does not show it as ever received by the post office, it shows that he printed a label with online postage. It doesn't say he ever mailed it. >> This is waht really chaps my ass when I send that to people. Why would I print the label and not mail it? The PO should really scan… -
Walkers, General Buying tips
Hello All, I made the decision the other night to start collecting raw Walkers. I know this set will take me a long while to collect but I really like this coin out of all of them. I'm going to be going for coins that go for less than $100. I realize that in some years that this won't get my foot in the door but I'll save… -
What would you do with this ebay situation on card payment?
Had a guy win three of my cards for 400.00 and some change. He promptly mails out a money order. I work 6a-6p mon/tues so my wife gets the mail today and goes to the bank to cash the MO for me. She calls me later to tell me that the bank refused it because the ebayer or the person or bank employee he purchased the MO from… -
Re: eBay absences...what gets you worried?
Since we are sort of on the subject, how do you guys feel about this policy that some sellers are using: "Bidders with less than 10 feedbacks must contact me before bidding." I know Modern Coin Mart often states this in their terms (they even go a step further and say that bids will be cancelled and IDs will be blocked if… -
Re: Check Fraud-Identity Theft-REWARD!
Yes, absolutely, call the credit bureaus and put fraud alerts on your files. When I did mine, though, a fraud alert did not mean a bank *could not* issue credit in my stolen name. It just meant that I asked them not to. Again, hope that's gotten better... And the phone calls! Ah, yes, you've reminded me. Even years later I… -
Re: List of Stolen Cards
<< <i> << <i> << <i> << <i>I'm no internet detective, but I imagine thru the CL post, you could track it back to the person's computer and voila, you have the culprit. >> Unfortunately, Craigslist is not "friendly" with law enforcement. They make LE jump through hoops to track stuff down that has been listed on Craigslist.… -
Re: A business model for pcgs to monetize the bst forum?
<< <i> << <i> Folks have gotten scammed on the BST in the past and, since getting a CU Forums id is a snap, I expect that folks would continue to get scammed. >> To be fair it kind of already has a member feedback collective and I have only heard of a few sour transactions over the years with limited oversight while on… -
Re: What ever happened to stamp collecting?
We carried stamps and stamp supplies for 15 years before we stopped carrying them due to lack of interest. We were carrying a good inventory in both and were selling ZILCH for those last 3-4 years. The local stamp club meetings and shows were basically all old guys trying to get rid of their junk and not buying anything.… -
Re: More news on the counterfeit checks
<< <i>A few readers wanted to know whether the bank could put a "hold" on the checks and money orders until it could verify their legitimacy. However, the federal Expedited Funds Availability Act of 1987 requires banks to make the first $5,000 of traveler's check and money order deposits available by the next business day.…
