Poll: Varieties in the Registry Sets
I have the following ideas on vartieties. You have two groups of collectors. Ones that collect standard Dates and Mink marks and those the collect both. You can't add varieties and keep both groups happy. So what if you had a Varieties Only Registry Sets? Or What about a Mixed Set (both) but set it up like this. You only… -

Another 2017 National post... My experience, in words and pictures!

So, this was my 6th National, but my first since 2011. I've only ever been to the National in Chicago and Cleveland... going in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 & 2011 previously. It's been so long, I really forgot just how much fun it is and how easy it is to get wrapped up in the excitement of the event! This was also the first… -
Re: IM Back! With A Moving Story

Thanks Again for all the kind replies. As for some of your qestions and Comments: FANDANGO: I live in a small rual area in Illinois(About 200 hundred miles west of Chicago) We're not talking a big Market here and There are many properties that have been sitting on the Market for a Long time. Although the sale is pending… -
Re: I just bought signed slabs

The Nolan Ryan signed silver $'s neat too, just seems to me they'd appeal more to sports memorabilia collectors. Can't say I know much about Tom Rogers, but maybe I should, as a coin collector. Besides, when MadMarty's "pissing minuteman" quarter surpasses the 1933 Saint at auction, and KingCoin becomes president of the… -
Re: Who believes, A man's word is his bond?
<< <i>I suspect that many here take this to the heart, whether you are a buyer or a seller. It's expected from each of us but unfortunately this is not entirely true. In this hobby the truth is allowed to sway a little one way or the other. It happens alot but it's tolorable, we accept it and move on. But when that word,… -
Re: I need an explanation of the "Potted Palm" routine...
My guess is the Potted Palm Routine™ has not been employed by the big firms in recent years, at least not literally. Auctions are more transparent than ever, the trick is illegal, and, if caught, the damage to the business could be catastrophic. It's simply not worth a couple increments, and I really do not think that… -

Re: ebay buyer to avoid
One reason for TR seller status is that I normally take every shipment to the PO (1 mile away) for an acceptance scan first thing the next morning in an effort to get quicker delivery. In this case, knowing I was not going to be able to get to the PO in the morning, I rushed to the PO late in the afternoon and just missed… -
Re: Pacific NW Numismatic Association Fall Coin Show at Portland Doubletree 10/5-6

<< <i>I'm 160 miles away. I'm slowly weakening. Dave >> I hear ya Same for me, but I don't want that drive at this time of year. And, I have my son's sports that I have to do on the weekends now, so that takes priority over a drive. Now, if it were up here in the Puget Sound, I would be able to do it They really should at…
