Re: Ebay hurt by bad economy
On average ebay got 15k per year since 1998 from me with the exception of last year. In my experience it was a wonderful place at the beginning, truly the 'community' that they spoke about. You could talk to someone helpful if you had a problem and they actively solicited and more importantly listened to your feedback.… -
Re: So I'm sitting on ~20 unopened 2007-W SAEs
The sealed boxes were a wonderful thing on the 06 silver three piece set. I never understood why someone would buy the sealed box in the hopes of making 70's, given the very high cost to grade 30 coins (30 x $24 each) and the low rate of random 70's. For my money, I look at the coins and not wrap 24 bucks around any… -
Re: My mistake, my problem?? What would you do?
Paypal sucks. I had a sale going that showed as "pending" in eBay. Two weeks later, the very patient buyer asks whether or not I mailed the product. So, I check PayPal's website and found that it was never pending, it went through two weeks ago. eBay's site had the wrong information. A few apologies and a special trip to… -
Re: Newbie looking for direction?
Welcome bentasm1 to the boards, coin collecting is like a journey. I started collecting 30 years ago, filling Whitman albums with circulated Indian head and Lincoln cents, then type coins, picked up some books along the way to learn more about the coins I had collected. As my knowledge of coins grew so did my appetite for… -
Re: A possible future regarding the grading industry
<< <i>whenever a company depends on just one person, a single mistake by that person would taint everything regardless of wether it was an isolated event or not. ( e.g Martha steward) >> This applies to whether the company has 50,000 graders or even just one. All mistakes work to tarnish a reputation. The mark of a good… -
Re: Network 54: PSA and the BBB???
Why is that dishonest person still pursuing this? As I understand it he claims to have sent PSA a $6000 card and he alleges that PSA lost the card. The problem is that this scammer does not have any proof that his package included the $6000 card. His package contained a group of lesser value cards, which were all returned… -
Re: out of town buyer writes bad checks
They were over in a town about 1 hr away last week, a guy called about a 55 ddo lincoln cent he had and that they had offered him 750.oo for it. Apparently he felt that was low(ya think) and wanted to know if I could submit it for him so he could sell it on e-bay. Anyway I happen to buy it myself for quite a bit more $, as… -
Re: BBCE ( Baseball Card Exchange ) is THE place for unopened items!
typical, I good thread turns into an arguement. No one says you have to sell it to Steve Hart. no oen says that unless it is from Steve it is fake. The REALITY is that much of the stuff on ebay is fake so unless you have a track record , you will not be trusted enough to get full value. so you have a choice , 1.)sell it at… -
Re: new collector; help me out?

If you're in it for the buying/selling, at least do it with what you enjoy. Pick your favorite era/teams/players and go with it. If you have any questions or concerns about a potential purchase, feel free to ask this forum. There are MANY highly experience collectors on here that are more than happy to help. Just a quick… -
Re: Has this PSA seal been breached?
<< <i>Hmmmm. Hard to tell. I think the case is alright. For the card, I'm no Jordan RC expert. I will, however, say that on future e-bay purchases this large, you should also make sure the seller will accept a return. I noticed this one does not. >> Well I paid with paypal using my cc, so if anything goes wrong, I can…
