Ahrensdad, You are correct. The S in Harry Truman's name derives from relatives names from both sides that started with the letter "S". Per Wikipedia as one sourse, this was common practice among folks of Scots-Irish ancestory. I grew up in greater Kansas City, only about 5-6 miles from the Truman home in Independence. -
