I've always assumed these scam listings are part of a money-laundering scheme, rather than people actually trying to sell cheap coins for a small fortune. In the end, a "coin" is bought and sold; now both parties have "money from sale of rare coin" on their books, that they can point to if the cops or tax agents ever come… -

The seller is a stinkin' scammer. Probably owes money to his local bookie and needs to pay quickly. He's hoping some rich sucker out there will think the seller misjudged the card, and that it actually is real. The scammers only mistake is asking too much money for the card. There are coutless scammers on ebay who scam… -
