1744 2 reales variety

Hello everyone. I purchased some coins today that I've been showing off - this is one. The seller identified this coin as 1744 over 43, but I think he did this because that is the only variety listed in Krause. Gilboy lists a second, more scarce, variety of 1744/2 - which is what I think this coin actually is. I was hoping… -

If you missed the first part of the 'Important to me' story check this link out here. Here is another coin that I have purchased that is not expensive, yet has meaning. Re: American Buffalo 2026 One Ounce Gold Proof Coin
I've been collecting the proofs. The prices this year make me wish they did the 1/2 oz at least. I got the 1/2 oz in 2008, I think. I didnt get the reverse proof as 1) I didnt really have the funds, and 2) I didnt appreciate the finish until I saw a rev proof ASE in hand. Missed that boat I suppose. ... Also, they're doing… -
Buffalo experts: Is this 1919-D a 2-Feather?

I bought this 1919-D at the last show I went to...I submitted it to ANACS as a 2-Feather, but it just came back as VG-8, no variety. There was a note from the grader that the feather was there. There is a very tiny amount of the feather visible near the second feather. I did read in Ron Pope's book that there is a '19-D… -
Re: HA Buyers Premium now 22%
I like watching auctions for foreign modern gold coins. They close, not surprisingly, at 15-20% back from spot to account for buyers premium. You would be much better off as a seller just bringing the coins to the pawn shop and letting Rick melt them down. Recent examples: Heritage April 28, 2026 Republic gold Proof… -

1981 SBA Type 2 picture request - a forum member's pic.
I've seen the pictures provided at smalldollars.com about the '81 Type 2, but I was wondering if any forum members have a picture they've taken of an '81 Type 2 that they could post. Added: I've got an '81 SBA here that I've been staring at for a half hour with a 7X loupe, and I just can't confirm it's a Type 1. I find… -
My worse sub ever.....2 of 3, waiting on 3rd sub

Here's what popped today. I'm a little ticked. I'm beginning to think that large submissions are getting hit. Never thought that before. There were 2 crack and resubmits and both got 10s which they should of been 10s in the first place. I sent in 3 subs for the May/June registry special. This one was the largest....they're… -
so shouldnt 2 1 oz platinums......
so shouldnt 2 (1) oz (W) platinums...... sell for more than the 4 coin set? I got 3 I hope to sell 2 for a total profit, keep the 3rd to store away for a rainy day. I guess I am hoping to get $5 to $6 k out of 2 and keep the 3rd forever and ever or until it's worth crazy amounts. So the same old question slab em, keep em… -
Sit down before you read this... eBay's coin update was implemented by idiots
I know, I know. The title was probably a shock, When has eBay ever been less than stellar? Well as I go through the new updates for listing specifics, I pulled up the list of options for grading companies: Why is that interesting? Well here is their list of approved grading companies: I'll admit I don't know about some of…
