Re: Your Experiences with SEGS Grading?

Back in the 2000's there was a private mint that made a Jefferson nickel Felix Schlag pattern reproduction that was pretty cool. I bought one that was already in a SEGS holder and another raw. I sent the raw one to SEGS so they would match. I requested that the wording on the label be specific to match the other one that… -
Re: New Ebay Changes - Mandatory Returns and Other Goodies
I will relate a recent scam played on me though , i offer immediate shipping , i don't know if that's what attracted the scammer but it played a part. Item got payed for overnight so packaged and mailed in the morning. Feedback given by myself and money in paypal. Lucky for me late that afternoon i looked at ebay and seen… -
Re: Funny eBay Question
<< <i> << <i>LMAO. Rich, had you even bid on any of his stuff or was this just some random eBay seller? >> The dude had no bidding or sales history. 0 feedback. I had never contacted, nor been contacted by him until his "Where's mah money?" email. Maybe he didn't realize that you're supposed to actually SELL something… -
Re: Another ebay id to block - ericm394
IMV, it is prudent to routinely BBL any EBAYer who vends NEGs/Neuts. If you catch a few dolphins in the net, such is life. They can always contact you and discuss the matter if they wanna get unblocked. The instant buyer is not a serial negger, but I would still BBL him. Under the current EBAY scheme of "buyer protection,"… -
Re: Vintage Goudey How to spot a fake?
Some great points made about vintage cards - nothing like experience...buy some lower priced PSA graded cards, and/or some inexpensive raw cards that are too cheap for anyone to have incentive to produce them as fake, examine them and get the feel for them, and in some time, you should be able to spot fakes. The… -
Re: China numismatic society 1795 $1 MS64!
<< <i>This has all the makings of a disaster. >> This begs the question: What does the future hold for slabbing? The quality of fakes gets better and better, and inevitably it's only a matter of time before these same scammers start creating convincing replicas of respected slabs. Then, you'll see very real-looking fakes… -
Re: Buy a Johnson, Help the Christians buy a van!
All the scammers parrot that same possible reprint line, but I am pretty sure that the eBay policy they are trying to comply with doesn't mean what they think it means. Here is the ebay policy: "Authenticity Disclaimers Sellers may not disclaim knowledge of, or responsibility for, the authenticity or legality of the items… -
Re: Got a negative feedback on ebay!
You don't have to look too hard to find references to "sleazeBay" and "PowerScrewers" when describing various sellers and the items they list for sale on eBay. That being the case, it's not difficult to see why a buyer might react negatively to finding out that the item they thought they were buying is not really available… -
Re: It's LEVI day on ebay
so much for the catholic faith. as we all know, some priests in the past have molested children. therefore, all priests are weasels! oh well. edited to add-- i saw that rabbi snagged on dateline nbc trying to molest a little boy, therefore all rabbi's must be weasels by your theory as well stevek. so much for the jewish… -
Re: This guy seems to be doing well on ebay
Where did I back him? Can you read? I am just saying it is possible that if this did happen then they may have helped the scammer more than hurt him. Think about this the bidding topped out at 1750.00 If someone was messing with the auction they probaly placed 10K bid on it or something like that, if 2 members were doing…
