The Crystal Ball: Numismatic Scrapbook, Jan 1965

"Our advertisers peer into the furture - here are their predictions": "The unpopular series will become more important especially the Bust and Liberty Seated series. We anticipate reduced interest in speculative items and an upswing in gold coins." - Stack's "Well, it finally happened, the bubble has burst, the teletype,… -
Re: what's the odds of this being legit.....
Collation for 1983 is different from cellos in the 1970s. For the same reason, any card can fall on front or back of a 1980 cello pack (depending on the wrap). If you check the other side of those Sandberg cellos, you should see cards from opposing sheets which would negate the same card on front and back. -

spree to spurs?(wouldn't do any good in june vs. the lakers ;), baker to boston a done deal?, all 29
if sonics dont give shard a deal close to the "max", rashard will just take on houston for 3 yr, 4.5 mill. It isn't clear what the Sonics meant when they said that re-signing Rashard Lewis was their number one priority. They have been trying to move Vin Baker in order to clear some cap space, but no one wants to take on… -
Re: Had a grand discussion with a fellow dealer. It turned a little heated
Why do they have to be different? There are a lot of similarities. They are both "money", they both represent political portrayals of history. They are both predominantly collected by old guys. I don't think it's binary. If coin collecting continues, as stamp collecting continues, but with a reduced collector base then you… -

Re: Grandmother's estate

doug, if you must resort to drivel (sound familiar?), at least make it true. tell ya what, i'll help you out, we'll go through this s-l-o-w-l-y one more time, and pretend it's a game. that'll make it easier for you to understand, ok? << 1. Re: x
That first-post article reads like a bit of bank propaganda to me. Banks always want to push the use of banknotes over other types of money. I've heard it stated many times that "nobody wanted silver dollars" . That is absolutely false. Of course people wanted them - they were money. The problem wasn't the size - it was… -
Re: Rational thought needs to prevail around Sandusky
<< <i>In the tawana Brawley and Duke Rape Case the charges were proven false. I agree Mr. Sandusky will have his life ruined if found not guilty by any means other than proving the accusations false. O.J. was found not guilty and his life was pretty much destroyed as people believed him guilty. He will get as fair a trial… -
Re: 4 Sharp Corners
<< <i>You are making statements under a false assumption. You are assuming 4sc pays $1 per card and is making money at $4 per card with free shipping. This is not the case. if they sent in 400,000 cards and sold 390,000 of them and made good money these are just left overs that have gone unsold for months or years. I…
